  1. I can't believe they pulled Braun. Yost has done that a lot lately, hasn't he? Two outs away from being in sole possession of first place again!
  2. so that you can come in here and get all haughty and imply that anyone posting here isn't a real cubs fan. oh wait, that's the other thread you did that in. and this one, i guess, too. Umm, yeah no. It was a legit question. Here's another legit question... do you ever actually make posts that are about baseball? Ever? And to answer your strawman argument question, I usually leave it up to others to regularly shred your terrible reasoning and holier-than-thou attitude, but if you'd like me to point that out for you also, I'm happy to do so. Yeah, I'm clearly the one trying to start the argument. Stick to your "Geovany Soto" posts, bud. I'm pretty sure that's your post at the top of this string, nipping at all of us "nerds" with our "stats" and our "books" and implying that if we don't stand behind our manager 100% then we're not true Cubs fans. I'm pretty sure that reading comprehension isn't your forte, because I wasn't saying anything close to that. I was merely wondering what the purpose of a thread that lists Lou's mistakes are. I think it's pointless because every manager makes mistakes and unless you're sadistic and want to have a thread like this to read through periodically, I don't see a reason for having this when we have game threads with 50 pages of posts. I've made plenty of posts where you can jump on me for sniping at people, and I have no problem admitting that. But this one was a 100% legit question. No need to be a dick about it.
  3. No doubt. Lilly has been so huge this year.

  5. How awesome would it be if Aramis hit a bomb here

  7. Riot was already stopped before anyone realized Griff was hurt, and it was too late to send him when they realized what happened. I really don't think they held him out of respect for Griffey's injury. No, they absolutely didn't hold him out of respect.
  8. What's the point of having this thread? To serve as a reference point? To look back and for some stupid reason read about his dumb moves? Seriously, what is the point?
  9. Alright, you gotta pinch hit with Murton here.
  10. I wish Ramirez was hitting here rather than Cliff. This has DP written all over it. Good to see Junior walking off on his own. God I hate to see him get injured again.
  11. Man, teams just run like crazy on us day in and day out.
  12. That was pretty far off the plate! It wasn't that far off the plate! You can't take that pitch in that situation. You just can't. I wouldn't fault anyone for not swinging at that pitch. Even when it's a called third strike and results in your pitcher hitting with two men in scoring position with two outs? Huh? How do you not fault him? This isn't directed at you but to everyone that is okay with him taking that pitch. If that's Jacque Jones and he takes that pitch, would you honestly give him a pass like you give to Soto? Be honest here. I'm guessing no.

  14. Christ. Swing at the strikes, idiot! You can't strike out looking with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the pitcher on deck. Kendall wouldn't have taken that one.
  15. I don't think so. Whatta crock. Yeah, I am here in St. Louis.
  16. Wow, the Yankees are only 2.5 games back now. 2 on, none out for the Brewers in the first. Damn you Mrs. Oswalt!!!
  17. At seven o'clock? Wow. It's usually midnight or so when I start blacking out.
  18. I've honestly never noticed him. But then again I really don't pay too much attention to the fans in the crowd anyways, unless it's a really hot chick that WGN focuses on for a few seconds. God I love that they do that.
  19. Do you guys not realize how silly and absurd that blaming Roy Oswalt and his wife for inducing labor on a day that's not convenient for the Cubs is?
  20. So you'll be cheering for the Reds tomorrow?
