    I don't know that it's a bizarro pitching performance. You could argue that he was the best pitcher for the Royals in 2006. Uh, no. He was just downright awful....

    Obviously Lou doesn't know how to manage a bullpen. Why pull Wuertz if you can't give him a chance to at least try to get out of the mess he created? Unfortunately, Lou went through Marmol to clean up Wuert'z poop, which worked. Now the genious decides to try him in the 9th inning, only to see it backfire. Somebody from the media really needs to let Lou know that overworking Marmol isn't exactly a great idea, especially when you will be needing him fresh in Septemeber/October.

    Yup, Lou really needs to start seeing big picture with Marmol. If he continues to use him in nearly every Cubs win, no matter the score, there is no way he'll have anything left.     I know !! It messes me up every Thursday !! It's even worse for people here on the East Coast on Friday. The game against LA starts at 10:40 PM. If the game runs long and goes to extras, it'll be strange to watch live Cubs baseball at 2 or 3 AM. I remember several times when the Cubs played a 1 or 2 A.M. game at Chicago becuase of the weather delay. IIRC, one of them was aganist the Giants at the time.....

    Earlier in his career, yes. Not so much in recent years. Maybe so, but either way, I'm just glad to have him on this team, even if his numbers aren't where they normally should be. His defense is, IMHO, very valuable for this team. I wasn't saying he shouldn't be on the team; he definitely should be. I was just saying that he hasn't been a slow starter in recent years as he was earlier in his career (through 2004). Oh I know you weren't saying that. I was just simply pointing it out that he did save several runs/games with his impressive glovework at 1st base. I guess, to me that he's just been unlucky so far, and I also think when the weather warms up, he'll get warmed up. *shrug*
