  1. Not only you'll see it in the minors and all, but it's actually happening in some high school teams as well. I coached a HS team once, and I was in dismay when I see kids doing that kind of crap. I pull all the kids together and simply told them "If you're not gonna hustle out of the batters box when you assume the ball you hit to be a somewhat routine out, I will just pull you and sit you down for the rest of the game, and that you will run sprints in next practice." Never was a problem since.
  2. What had me thinking is that, how would the majority of us feel if that was Dusty, getting the Hawkins treatment? You know, like whenever Dusty comes out of the dugout for whatever reason, where people will be booing and hissing at him, chanting "Dusty Sucks", etc etc. Considering the fact that the majority of us in here have a strong dislike towards Dusty for his inabilities to handle a bullpen, inabilities to fill out a "proper" line up, inabilities to use the correct people in certain situations, etc etc. What would you do? Would it make/feel any difference? Just thinking out loud, that is all.
  3. Well, that was a tough game. Hopefully we can manage to get the last game of the series. Here are your starters. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/5819.jpg Tomko is 7-10 with a 5.03 ERA. Tomko hasn't lost in four July outings after struggling with a 1-3 record and 7.31 ERA in June. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/6559.jpg Zambrano is 7-4 with a 3.42 ERA. He's 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA in four July starts.
  4. I can do the spot-start if needed Serena.
  5. The Cubs WILL win later today. Cause the Giants will be sitting Vizquel, Alou, Durham, because Alou always uses the "don't play the OLDER veterans in the day game right after a LONG NIGHT game" theory. If the Cubs don't win later today, I will be severely disappointed. How does Macias look at himself in the mirror, everyday? I mean he is legitimately STEALING money and playing time from the Cubs. On the Mo. Alou issue, he was pulled yesterday/today's (Hoever you want to look at it) in the 2nd inning becuase of his hamstring was tightening up. So that could be a factor. If Mo's hamstring isn't feeling well by later, chances are that he won't be playing today.
  6. Here's my take on this. I'm so sick of these idiots who think because they pay for a seat in the game so that they can get into the action. I have no problem with Hawkins at all. Sure he didn't live up to his expectations in Chicago, but not all of them are entirely his fault. Some of the blame shoul go to Dusty, for the fact that Dusty kept saying that he is a closer and yada yada. Hawkins left Chicago with nothing but good things to say about the city of Chicago, if I am not mistaken. And this is how the fans repay him? Pitiful. I also think (expletive) like this is just an symptom of a much greater problem - the decline of our society in general. Hoardes of morons raised with no discipline, morals or sense of personal responsibility = embarrassing public spectales, and this sort of thing is happening more and more often.
  7. While he may have hit into DP's and all that, he has, however, been on base when it was needed to win the games for the past few days. And as others mentioned, he is a streaky hitter.
  8. It's just one of those freak plays. There's always going to be balls going right by pitchers. Now on the college level, I really hate seeing those alumium bats making those real loud ping sounds. It really makes me squirm, becuase I have seen alot of pitchers getting drilled by those balls coming from alumium bats.
  9. Welp, gotta win the later game today. Taking 2-1 would be a good idea, yes?
  10. ***$_)(#${H}_)({OID ujfioWSDiSIHUOioha[ Ugh!
  11. Glendon out, Wuertz in, Cedeno replacing Neifi at SS.
  12. Nice throw by Burnitz to hold the runner to a single. Looked like a double could had happened. DP please.
  13. Oh boy (we're ALMOST there). I was just fooling around ~4 hours ago when I said that. Honest. Well, I guess this is what I get for trying to be a funny man. Well you better hope that the Cubs win it. ;)
  14. Cedeno sighting. And I hope so DJAXXFAN. That would be so sweet.
  15. And.... Glendon strikes him out!! To the bottom of 10th we go!
