    I'd like to look toward Fukudome. Moi aussi. I would be in favor of this also. Will the Cubs have enough payroll to get him though. I think that might depend on who the new owner is. Maybe Toyota will buy the Cubs...

    Well crap...because Mississippi has no chance at advancing. They were very good in the first half, but most all of those players have been promoted. So, if the Braves and Smokies would both have to advance, there's little chance I get to see the Smokies again.

    Well, I guess we're going to have to wait and see on this one. I trust Bruce that it won't be Ohman. It's going to be interesting to see if Ohman is brought back when rosters expand. If one of those three is left at Iowa, that's likely the one who has been traded.

    I remember my initial reaction was profound disgust. I didn't like giving up Blevins. I had serious concerns about Kendall's defense. I then just began to hope that Kendall could return to the numbers he had done last season. I'm pleasantly pleased with the trade. I'll admit my gut reaction was off base.

    Wickman's attitude was mentioned when the Braves discussed his release. Link.

    Fukudome would be an excellent addition. Soriano, Pie, and Fukudome would be an excellent outfield. If Pie struggles or doesn't develop, Fukudome could move to CF and the Cubs could find a corner OF pretty easily. I hope whoever the GM is will see the value in signing him. A lot could depend on who the new ownership will be, but hopefully he/she/they will recognize the value to signing him.

    I know there's a good chance that the Smokies make the playoffs. How do the pairings work? I know Mississippi was the 1st half South division champion. Is there any chance that the Smokies will be playing in Mississippi for the first round?
