    That's a good thought. Put him on waivers. He'll clear, and if some one is silly enough to claim him, give them the Randy Myers treatment and let them have him, salary and all.

    I dislike Marquis as much as the next guy. Trading him makes sense because it frees the Cubs from the salary commitment for next season. DFAing him at this point does not. If we DFA him, we lose the depth he can provide if needed and we're still on the hook for the salary, allowing someone to get him for next season at the league minimum.

    Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up? Ben Sheets. I'm good with one injury risk in our rotation, thanks. I'll admit, this is a biased choice. I've wanted to root for Sheets since he left Northeast Louisiana. When the Brewers weren't that good, I could root for him in every start he didn't face the Cubs. The last two seasons, not so much. If he were on the Cubs, he'd rank right up there with my Theriot/Fontenot love. You mean ULM, right. It was Northeast Louisiana when Sheets played for them. The name change occurred after he left.

    Brewers win the first game, Cubs win the fourth. I think the Cubs have the upper hand in game three and the second is a toss -up. At worst, I think we split and at best I think we could win three.

    ie Carlos Marmol pt.2 Carlos Marmol's pitches still looked good as a starter though. From what I've heard, Shark's pitches seemed less than impressive in the minors, though admittedly I've never seen him pitch before a couple days ago. As I stated before, he looks a lot better now than what I saw a couple of months ago.

    That's my take, but Raisin disagrees with me. I agree in the short-term, but I want him starting if he continues progressing at this rate I just worry that his fastball lacks the life when he's a starter.
