I would because it would allow us out from Soriano's contract and Manny will be a FA at the end of the year. We'd have our bat for the stretch and then sign Dunn in the offseason. :D

No offense, but almost anytime you lose a close game with numerous close plays, it feels that you gave away too many chances. Had the Brewers won, we would have felt the same thing about Lee cutting off the throw home, Quade sending Lee when he should have held him, and the numerous other plays where the Cubs gave away chances. Both teams made mistakes. Both teams had some things go their way. The better team won tonight.

With the small clubhouse, they aren't likely to bring up too many. I think we'll see some extra arms for the pen and a few bats. Pie will get called up. Hoffpauir will as well. If he's still hitting, Dubois could get added to the 40 and then removed when the season is done. Fuld and Fox are long shots. I don't see either returning. Neither has done much in the minors this year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both traded or removed from the 40-man this offseason. As far as pitchers, I think Wuertz, Guzman, Ascanio, Hart, and Lieber will be it. Oh, and maybe Hill. I think if Hill can find his control and the Cubs have a four game or greater lead, he could be given a start to rest someone in the rotation like Dempster or Harden.

So...the only other baserunners in the entire game that failed to score for the Brewers were "classic Brewer game"? They got 8 baserunners, and 4 scored, 3 on HRs. Hart wasn't clearly safe, and it was mostly Lee's fault for not letting the ball through, because Fielder would've been out. Torres was lucky to get out with only giving 2 runs up. Fukudome and Soto both K'd during AB where they swung at balls out of the zone. The Cubs had 10 left on base, and left 6 of them in scoring position. No team is going to convert every chance. The Cubs converted a lower % than the Brewers. No, we didnt come through with runners in scoring position. We had huge errors and Hart WAS clearly safe. It was a good game, but if your going to be a tool about it and not even say it was and say something like "Well we should of won by more" which you should not of. I dont even want to talk to you. To all good Cub fans, good game. 1 out of 162, but I wish we would of won. Sorry to nitpick...but you've done it twice. Do not use "of" with should or would. "Of" is a preposition; you need the helping verb "have." Would have, should have, could have or if you prefer contractions would've, could've, should've....not would of, could of, or should of.
