  1. Is it just me or is the strike zone tight tonight?
  2. We haven't broken through, but 34 pitches for Sheets in addition to some really well hit balls.
  3. Well, if lose we can go to Brewerfan.net and complain about how we should have won except for the Brewers making lucky catches. :D
  4. Pretty sure he's been visited by Modzilla. Exposed? Yeah, I think he was on that show on MTV. 8-[
  5. 17 pitches for Sheets. We just need to keep making him work.
  6. I know. But how many other guys on that team have had a run like that? I'm just frustrated, I guess, at how all this transpired. The Pennant Race is great. But if Edmonds continues to be hobbled, or even for next year, are we going to do this all over again? Give him the job and then give up on him if he's 3/16 after four games? I wonder based on innuendos and other rumblings if Pie may have been sent down for reasons other than or in addition to his offensive struggles.
  7. As much as I wish Fontenot played an adequate SS, he doesn't. You might could use him in an emergency situation, but as the main back-up, no.
  8. Is there anyone who likes Brantley? Seriously, he's a baffoon.
  9. We really can't trade Cedeno unless in the same or subsequent deal we pick up someone who can back up SS for us this season. I'd do Cedeno for Hu if the Dodgers tossed in another prospect.
  10. This was probably the best deal the Braves could get at this point. Not many of the contenders were looking to upgrade at 1b, so it was accept this deal or the one with the Diamondbacks. The Braves felt like Kochman was more value to them next year than the two draft picks. This is an excellent deal for the Angels.
  11. I'm pretty certain we won't make a deadline deal. We may make a move for something in August however.
  12. No big deal....just make him sit in the upper deck. :D
  13. While I'm not a big worrier about clubhouse cancer, with this guy, I'm starting to think the baggage doesn't warrnat the production you get from him. This isn't his first tantrum and run-in with a manager.
  14. I would because it would allow us out from Soriano's contract and Manny will be a FA at the end of the year. We'd have our bat for the stretch and then sign Dunn in the offseason. :D Topping the worst OF defensively of Manny and Soriano....adding Dunn! Imagine that of, yikes! I wonder what type of money Dunn is going to get. Well, under my scenario Dunn would play LF, Fukudome in RF, and a yet to be determined player in CF. I know vance but the thought of it made me want to buy season tickets just for the entertainment value in the OF alone! Imagine how fun it would be to watch Dunn launch balls out of Wrigley that might land on the roof tops across the street. It would be nice. So you'd basically trade Dunn for Soriano? yes, because I think you could get Dunn for less dollars and less years than we committed to Soriano. I think while they are different types of hitters, they bring basically the same value as a hitter.
  15. Two rumors floating around currently are Teixeira to either the Dbacks or Angels. The Angels also want Will Ohman or Mike Gonzalez. The Angels would be willing to include Kochman if they could get the lefty arm as well. The Dbacks offer includes Tracy. Another rumor is that Manny could go to the Dodgers.
  16. Yep, it appears the one who complains about the bathrooms should be the one to curtail drinking. I'm guessing most of the Wrigley faithful who enjoy their beer and baseball aren't complaining about the configuration of the bathrooms that allow them to enjoy both beverage and ballgame in an efficient manner. Like I said, it's taking a piss. Are we men really getting particular about where we take a piss. If you have to drop a duece or are a woman, then maybe the condition of the restroom is a concern. If not, it's time to grow a pair and just piss wherever you can.
  17. I've never understood why people complain about bathrooms unless your a woman or needing to drop a duece.
  18. When I saw him at Mississippi his fastball didn't have the movement that it had in his two appearances at Wrigley. Thanks to all for the info. I always compared him to the relief pitcher (L something) the Cubs got from the Tigers a couple of years ago. The only relief pitcher I can recall we've gotten from the Tigers recently was Roberto Novoa.
