  1. Brewer's hitters + crappy pitcher = lots of runs. We better win tonight to keep pace.
  2. How the heck does Prince Fielder hit a triple?
  3. Which is what you should do. So you are confirming that you haven't heard anything about this? I would be absolutely shocked if this actually happened. Trolls start trade rumors on blogs at every trade deadline. Did anyone check whether this was the blogger's first post (or one of them)? It was his first post. It's not a surprise. Thank god we have Bruce here to keep us in check before we get too rumor crazy.
  4. ESPN 1000 reporting that Tillman has just signed a 6-year extension for around $40-42 million.
  5. I love the trading deadline. All kind of trade rumors. I, of course, would be a big fan if this were true, but I remain very, very skeptical.
  6. I think you're mistaking him with Adam Dunn. Dunn has a option for 2008, but if he's traded the option goes away and he becomes a free agent.
  7. Trade whatever it takes in terms of prospects. Get him here and put him in RF.
  8. anybody else heard this? Or is it possible that CSN reported wrong that Fox was demoted instead of Moore? If fox is demoted as well I would have to imagine Murton has been called back up. Either that or a trade. The article in the Trib also said Fox was the one likely to go down. As did their online article on chicagosports.com. The latest ESPN 1000 update still says Levine is reporting Moore being sent back down. The chicagosports.com article says Fox will "likely" be sent down; that could be the writer's speculation as opposed to actual knowledge. Moore does make more sense to me in light of Lou's comments about Fox when he was called up. I gather the move hasn't been made official yet (it may not until right before game time), so until an official announcement comes it may just be speculation concerning who goes down. Plus the fact that Fox would have been added to the 40-man roster for 1 at-bat in a week. Pretty stupid if that's what happens.

  10. Just mentioned on ESPN 1000. Biggio is going to retire after this season. He is supposed to have a press conference in a little while. MLB.com article about his plans to retire
  11. TT a mod? There goes the neighborhood. Congrats TT!
  12. He's on the 15-day DL with a bad hamstring and won't be able to come off the DL until after the trading deadline.
  13. Why would we want Craig Monroe. He's got a career .750 OPS. Is that the best we can do? Can that even be considered an upgrade? I hope Hendry can do better than that.
  14. I am also on a tear. I have continued to climb the ladder every week after starting in a tie for last place.
  15. Exactly. Why would Piniella be worried about where to put him if he was a natural SS, since he was obviously an upgrade over Izturis with the bat? Or could it be Lou didn't know where to put him because he's not better offensively or defensively than DeRosa who is the starting 2b.
  16. Have you talked to Lou? Did he tell you that? If Lou thinks he's a SS, how come he "tried him out at SS" when Izturis and Cedeno were doing poorly. Seems like they didn't think he could handle SS defensively at the beginning of the season.
  17. What credibility you thought you still had just went out the window. A natural SS would have an average arm for the position. Theriot's is well below-average. And obviously there are other knowledgable people who disagree with you considering Theriot has spent more time playing 2b.
