I was reminded from a side conversation that baseballs are a mostly manual manufacturing process. There is some automation in the making of the pill in the middle, and the twirling of the layers of string and yarn and stuff, but the 108 stitches are done by hand and it looks tedious. Anyway, just an excuse to share this very cathartic video.

I'm a bit unemployed still at the moment, but Brock said I should probably share our little hobby podcast that I did when we still had the World Series Dreaming blog active. Right now the Podbean for our Dreamcast is still active and you can skim through the archives over the years, and the new version I've been doing with the Obstructed View guys for a bit. I got to hang out with my dog a bit today (much to his chagrin) because the wife and kid went to Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza, and puppy needed a human to be with him. As we walked around the neighborhood, I reflected to how I haven't been back to Wrigley Field since before the pandemic, though I did go to a few games at Oracle Park and the Oakland Coliseum when the Cubs were in town while we lived back in California. I knew that at least half the ballparks in MLB allowed a pet day (specifically for dogs, anyway, though I am unsure if anyone snuck in parrots or iguanas), but never Wrigley Field. As we are all painfully aware, Wrigley doesn't allow animals in the park unless they're designated service animals, and my poor doggo is too small (chihuahua) and a tad too dumb to even fake it. I guess the other teams, including the White Sox, at least have more space, or a lower attendance that allows for more space, than Wrigley does. It is disappointing that the other NL Central teams allow for a dog day (several in fact for a few of them), at least up to last season. I figure with a big yard in the Triangle area the Cubs could accommodate a pet day if they really wanted to, but the confined spaces in the concourse and in the seating areas might be a bit rough for our furry friends. But I do wonder if such a day could be logistically possible. Maybe it wouldn't be for my dog, who has a bit of anxiety and can be unpredictable around unfamiliar folks and other furry friends, but certainly for your four-legged pal if they're well-behaved?
