    If this turns out to be true, sweetemotion will win Rookie of the Year at the NSBB awards. He will finish a distant second to DJAXXFAN as poster of the year. If this is a hoax, I don't even have to curse you. Anyone who gets their jollies by posting false trade information online must have some serious self-esteem issues.

    In my fantasy league yesterday, I traded Aramis and Yhancy Brazoban for Carlos Delgado and Joe Nathan. I have another 3B and I really, really needed the pitching help. Did I make the right move?

    Of course not. I haven't been this surprised by a Cub player's race since Troy O'Leary. I'm not even going to make the obligatory "Dusty thinks that Jody will deal better with the Wrigley sun than Dubois" joke.

    I've been following Jody Gerut for years for fantasy purposes. I spent half an hour past my bedtime reading about the trade last night. My MLB.TV feed just hooked up. All I can say is: Jody Gerut is black?

    More proof that Hendry is a great GM: Everyone was screaming for Lowell and he snagged A-Ram instead.

    Murton should play now that Leiter is out of the game. I realize there is a zero percent chance of that happening.

    Perhaps Dusty is starting Neifi because he'll barely be playing for the next week too. I think Hendry is really going to start making moves by next weekend. Neifi is playing well today though.

    28 pitches for Leiter in the first. Only 9 for Maddux! That's as good a sign as any for this game. edit: Sorry, it was 5 strikes and 9 pitches total.

    Macias's average is up to .278. His OBP is probably still sub .300 but that's still a marked improvement over the Lenny Harris days.

    Intentionally walking Lee to get to Macias with first base open. A drunken little league coach could have called that.

    That Lenny Harris strikeout was cathartic. I still can't believe that Lenny got cut by the Cubs and won a World Series with the Marlins. That's like Jose Macias getting picked up by the Red Sox. I take that back, Lenny F. Harris was not the player that Jose is. That's damning both of them with faint praise.

    There's a better chance of Blanco winning it on a balk.

    I almost turned this game off twice. The offense literally didn't show up until there was 26 outs. If the Cubs pull this off, this has to be a huge momentum shifter.

    I understand trying to stay out of the double play. The problem is trying to run on 1995 Pudge when everyone in Wrigley knows you're going.

    Dustan Mohr just hit a homer off Mulder in the top of the first. Rockies 2-0, 0 out in the first.
