Now this is fun. Hang on D’Backs.

Cubs had a half game lead over Arizona on September 16th, then went below the D’Backs the following night and never overtook them again. Arizona were 84-74 on September 26th and then went 0-4, couldn’t be chased down.
  3. If the FO picks up Kyle option for a year or buys him out/re-signs him for something like 2/20 or Kyle rides off into the sunset, I wouldn’t hate any of the three options. As stated above,,the money saved would come in handy if the team did move on. If Kyle comes back, his salary isn’t exactly astronomical.
  4. Looks like Breslow has emerged as the clear front runner. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2023/10/23/sports/red-sox-reportedly-narrow-field-candidates-head-baseball-operations-job/?event=event25

Yeah, definitely one of those sports franchisers that just screams “never done anything worthwhile in their history.” Like the Cleveland Browns…… or Leicester City. A Google search later and wtf?

    Congratulations, Texas! Buh-bye, Houston!
  7. JHBulls

    LCS

You’re right. I made up Houston making the 2017, 2018 and 2019 World Series in my head. 😳

Just had a Google search, Bochy is 2-0 and Dusty 0-3 in career Game 7’s.

It’s wild how much Houston suck at home.

Max simply doesn’t have it tonight. Bochy needs to make the call and soon.

Yes, another LCS Game 7. This is what postseason Baseball is all about. Texas vs Arizona is my pick. Something new after a stupidly consistent Houston era. Say what you will about the Astros cheating era but 5 World Series in 6 years is just nuts.

Houston have had these home woes in the past. 2019 World Series, all 7 games won by the away team and Houston had home field advantage.

Get ready for Game 7. Houston with more home field struggles.

Oh my, this is one epic comeback.

Texas can take comfort from knowing Houston were 39-42 at home during the regular season and 1-3 (0-2 against Texas) at home during the postseason. None of that will matter because Houston have delated Texas to the point that Game 6 will probably be a blow out in Houston’s favour.
  16. Already posted. Sucks for Fulmer.

And fast forward to 6 years from now, Cubs will have made a big mistake not getting Ohtani.

Phillies are cooking here. Schwarber needs that second World Series ring.
  19. Jeez USA, leave some goals for the next fixture

Such a good position for Texas to be in. 2-0 after the first two Houston hosted games.
  21. Wrong thread.
  22. Has anyone watched the David Beckham documentary on Netflix? I knew a lot about this career up until his MLS playing career but to relive what he went through after the 1998 World Cup, horrible. It was so good to hear the stories from Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Neville, Roy Keane and to even get some of his Real Madrid teammates was a nice touch. Seeing how the MLS was when David Beckham first arrived in 2007 to the professional competition it has grown into does show the influence of the man.
  23. Only sport I know where a team loses a postseason series and then just sit there in the dugout watching the other teams celebrations. Get out of there and into the locker rooms.
  24. Unfortunately, yes. Happy with the trophy but can only hope that the next window stays open for much longer.
  25. And then you have the Cubs coming along after not making a postseason in 7 years, making the NLCS in 2015 and then the World Series the following year. Astros, Dodgers and Braves needed years to climb the mountain. The Cubs just jumped the queue and did it lol.
