  1. Pretty wild stuff if Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay host one match each and automatically qualify for the 2030 World Cup as hosts. What would the Conmebol qualification section even look like? Six nations are guaranteed a spot with the new 48 team World Cup. So for 2030, 6 automatically qualify in a 7 team qualification section and with the three hosts, 9 South American nations will be guaranteed to be at the 2030 World Cup. Not to mention a 7th nation could qualify via the playoffs, so all 10 South American nations could be involved at the 2030 World Cup.
  2. Milwaukee would likely be getting ready for a series against the Dodgers if the Cubs got in. This way at least we can laugh at them.
  3. 83 wins is a good result given 75-80 wins seemed to be the consensus in April, however, the final 17 games was a river of horsefeathers that the team couldn’t swim out of. Missing out of the postseason by 1 game is pretty disappointing thanks to the final weeks of the season. Jed Hoyer needs to get to work so 2024 isn’t another lost year late into the piece. Start with that BP because yikes.
  4. Yes baby! 3-3 ball game. I am stuck watching the Brewers feed and all they’ve shown since this rookie came in is his family and friends in attendance. Let’s see if the Brewers feed shows them as much now lol
  5. It can be both. 82-85 wins would be seen as what the Cubs could have achieved this year. But being half a game out of the third wildcard spot, while possibly losing four in a row and could rise 6 in a row to finish the year is a choke. Losing 6 games this month to the D’Backs doesn’t happen.
  6. Good thing that was a no doubter because it would have been infuriating if it hit outfield wall and Candelario was standing on 1st.
  7. This roster needs open heart surgery instead of a Band-Aid. Just painful to watch them going out like this. 3-0 down on the fifth and you just know it’s insurmountable.
  8. Equal third best run differential in the NL… about to miss out on the postseason. That’s just depressing.
  9. Another shattering loss is so disappointing. This team cannot catch any breaks at the worse possible time. 😞
  10. Good fight back through the middle to late innings in that one. Really needed that win.
  11. You would have needed to be on the Cubs board on Prosportsdaily to fully understand WCWW. 🙂
  12. That should have been a DP. Sucky throw. 😞
  13. Yep, it’s genuinely incredible to be deep into September with a chance at the postseason still. The Rockies and the current “let’s-just-get-through-162” version of the Braves couldn’t have come at a better time.
  14. Real Madrid needing a last minute winning against Union Berlin was something I was not expecting to see this morning as I imagined they would have had the game won early in the second half, such is the difference in quality between the sides. Jude Bellingham has started like a house on fire with his new club. Bayern Munich beating Manchester United was the result I fully expected, if not the score. Bayern need to stabilise the defence and United needs to fix a whole lot more than that. Arsenal had a good result on their return to the competition. It’s always pretty exciting when you see goalkeepers score goals. Just seeing a keeper going up for a corner in a non-knockout stage match is excellent to see. I love that sort of positivity.
