What do you want to see from this team in the next 5 weeks to justify buying at the trade deadline? I’m certain the Cubs are better than they’ve played the past 6 weeks, but I don’t think they’re good enough to justify selling prospects to win this year unless there’s someone who’s over performing and we’re just trying to sell high on (maybe a Pedro Ramirez?) With the pitching injuries we’ve had this year, I don’t see a rental (Tarik Skubal) making enough of a difference. If Steele or Horton were healthy, and Shota/Cabrera hadn’t become so inconsistent I’d say sure… but that’s not the case. I feel like if we were to acquire anyone substantial at all, he’d have to come with team control through 2028 for me to be happy with the trade, and that would obviously be costly prospect-wise. -
Ian Happ is tied for 5th in fWAR among all LF’ers this season. Friendly reminder: there are 30 teams in MLB Cub fans are embarrassing to the sport

This is my dream. I miss Len so much. Nothing against Boog though. I have zero clue what gripe anyone has against him other than the fact he only calls like 80% of the games. He is a stellar PBP guy, and he’s about as good as it gets for a local broadcaster
