Spending the most money does not automatically turn into winning the WS. In fact, trying to spend your way out of a mess typically leads to a bigger mess. I am more worried about making the right choices on what young guys to sign long-term and re-stocking the farm with arms to take over in the next couple years. As far as this year, I completely agree with Theo in that if the current core doesn’t hit again, it won’t matter. The addition of one bat wouldn’t be the difference. I think the biggest mistake made was not getting yelich via trade a yr ago before the brewers jumped on him. What a missed opportunity. A solid on base guy in front of our bats is the biggest need, but also evidently, the hardest to come by. If the core hits early, I think he’ll be aggressive in strengthening the pen.
