I think his goal should be to always think pull over the 2B on grounders and liners, opposite field on fly balls. He definitely has a long way to go against LHP. Wonder how long that progression will ultimately take. Don't see a viable, healthy long-term outcome if he struggles a ton against lefties. It actually may work out this season cause everyone else absolutely destroyed lefties on the team (Almora and Báez vs. LHP are totally different players!)

Quintana hinders this season how? Man he is a stupid fuk.. i wont even click the article to find out. Wait my mind is literally blown. We trade 4 players who are playing in High-A ball or lower for a top 10 pitcher in baseball and his complaint is that we focused too much on the future? Like, I can't even begin to unwrap that logic. I get that there are sports writers out there that live and die on hot takes crafted to get a reaction out of fans, but this doesn't even make any sense. It would be like saying "My friend repeatedly cheated on his girlfriend, why is he so obsessed with commitment and being faithful?" Is there a caretaker or something looking after him? Something tells me Morrissey would've been happier had we acquired someone much worse than Q but simply had just this year left on his contract. By his logic, that would "show 'em we're all in on 2017, forget the future!" even if the pitcher was far worse than Quintana (which is more than likely they case they would be).

Does anybody have any worry with Q's somewhat high WHIP numbers for his career? 1.20+ isn't terrible but those don't generally translate to the low ERAs he's had in his career. Am I reading too much into it? Cubs defense should be a boost to him any way?
