Bruce Levine just came on ESPN 1000 and said that the White Sox signed Scott Linebrink to a 4 year 19 million dollar deal. And some people thought the Howry and Eyre contracts were crazy.

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7460518 Castillo is better than Matsui, but I still don't understand the sudden need to replace DeRosa. Especially with the glaring holes at SS and the outfield. Unless they think DeRosa or Castillo can play shortstop?

Don't know if this is news as it seems that Hendry is putting a claim on everybody, but after the 10:00 update Levine said that besides the Podsednik claim, the Cubs have put a claim on Casey Blake. Levine did not say whether the Cubs have won the claim or not.

On the 10:00 update, Bruce Levine reported that the Cubs put a waiver claim on Scott Podsednik and they have 48 hours to make a deal. -
Bruce Levine was hosting CBT with J Hood tonight and he ended the show saying that the Cubs were looking at Craig Monroe, but Detroit wanted Michael Wuertz in return, so the Cubs called it off. Levine still said that the Cubs are trying to get a right handed outfielder.
