  1. Tim has Why do I get all the blame? Yeah Tim, why you gotta start trouble? :-)
  2. truffle had said he was going to quit when you took away his points for streaming SPs from the minors that had exceeded the limits ya big jerk. And that brian guy (chicken) doesn't seem to post here, so who know if he wants to stay in this crazy league another year. wake me when it's February.
  3. So is this going to be like last year and we are going to wait till the last minute to finalize everything? It would be nice to be able to start trading.
  4. I thought I made out pretty well in the F.Hernandez trade. I got Matt Cain who is still a pretty good pitcher and has outscored Hernandez since the trade, Cespedes who still has two exemptions remaining, a Top 50 prospect in Odorizzi and a Top 100 prospect in E.Butler. Hernandez has cost me upwards of 38.3% of my keeper points and I don't think I was going to be able to hold onto him this offseason.
  5. Adam confirmed in the Week 15 thread.
  6. Add: Goldschmidt Drop: Craig Add: Justin Upton Drop: Kinsler
  7. Bazingas receive Scioscia's Tragic Illness 5th round pick for 2014 in Carlos Gomez trade.
  8. So if Trevor Rosenthal gets a spot save for Ed Mujica I won't get the save points because he's not the "closer"? What has this league come too?!? No and your comment in the poll isn't relevant. The question isn't whether a non-closer can score points, or even in some cases be better than a closer. The question is whether being a closer and losing that title is akin to being benched. Seems clear to me that it is b/c the RP will now only be used in certain non-save situations, just like a position player that lost his starting job. (And comparing a closer that lost his job to an elite non-closer RP makes no sense; if the closer were elite, he wouldn't have lost his job.) Moreover, the rules clearly state several exceptions to the rule against mid-week changes. Then it explicitly excludes starting pitchers from the midweek change rule. Logic says the exceptions to the midweek change rule applies to the other 2 groups (RPs and hitters). Logic also says that since 95% of RPs used in this league are closers and the only way a closer gets "benched" is by losing the closer role, you wouldn't include RPs in the midweek change exception unless you intended it to apply to closers. If there are 3 types of players (hitters, SPs, RPs) and you want a rule (exceptions for mid-week changes) to only apply to 1 group, then you would say "this only applies to hitters." You wouldn't state that 1 of the 3 groups was excluded if you actually meant to exclude 2 of them. Finally, I fully admit that I don't like the benching exception. I think it's full of ambiguity (does a regular who becomes a platoon player count as being benched; the closer losing his job issue; two days off for a non-injury b/c you're slumping, etc). There are other rules that I don't like but abide by. But it is explicitly included in the rules, so I don't know why it wouldn't be applied, other than there seem to be a number of unwritten rules, some of which apparently trump the written ones. The comment was a joke. The fun of this league is being engulfed like flames sucking up all the oxygen in a room. Certainly glad I came back for one more season.
  9. So if Trevor Rosenthal gets a spot save for Ed Mujica I won't get the save points because he's not the "closer"? What has this league come too?!?
  10. A reliever is still a reliever whether he's closing or not. Not being a reliever he could end up pitching more and netting the same amount of points. One of my relievers isn't a closer and he does just fine.
  11. Rutledge called up. Inserted into starting lineup. Removed and dropped Crawford to make room.
  12. This would be the 4th straight year that I know it has been.
  13. Josh Rutledge is actually in the minors. Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk 2
  14. Update on yahoo sports says Lind sitting tonight with sore hammy. Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk 2
  15. In my other league we have waivers run everyday. When a player is released he will be on waivers for three days from the day of release. This gives every team ample time to get a claim in if wanted. It also gets players back into FA in a timely matter. For example, I released a player this morning. He will now clear waivers on Saturday morning. If I release a player on Sunday, he will clear waivers on Wednesday, etc...etc....
  16. I'm fine with waiting until next year but I'm missing how it changes a players value. I could see if we had deep benches where you could hoard players but with the 3 player bench most teams only have two hitters to plug into holes be it for injury or poor performance mid week.
  17. Stanton activated from DL. Placed in starting lineup and moved Avisail Garcia to bench. Dropped Tommy Hanson to make room on roster.
  18. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> Make it happen COMMISH!!!
  19. He had to wait until Monday for the discussion to clear waivers.
  20. So I'm in the midst of our dynasty rookie draft. So far I have taken OLB Jarvis Jones and WR DeAndre Hopkins filling a couple pressing needs. I still need some help on the DL so I'm thinking of going that way with my 3rd pick. I'm trying to decide between DE Datone Jones from Green Bay and DE Damontre Moore from NY Giants. Jones should start right away for the Pack but Moore seems to have more upside but won't start and there are concerns about his work ethic. Anyone have any thoughts?
  21. Rutledge was sent to the minors by the Rockies. I had to therefore remove Rutledge from my starting lineup, picked up Brandon Crawford to replace him and dropped Daniel Nava to make room on the roster. Nava was also in my starting lineup so to replace him I moved Brown from U to OF and moved Howard from bench to U.
  22. Altuve on bereavement list and moved to bench. Moved Rutledge from SS to 2B. Picked up Dietrich to play SS.
  23. Viciedo returns from DL and placed in starting lineup and benched Kubel. Moved Stanton from bench to DL.
  24. Stanton lands on DL. Replaced in lineup by Kubel.
  25. Picked up Peter Boujos to replace the DL'd Dayan Viciedo.
