In a response to a fan's question posed to him on X, he said theyre not going to try to resign him and that was the plan all along. Several articles have run it; not sure which was the first.

Jesse Rogers finally stated what some of us surmised all along: the Cubs never intended to resign Tucker. It was a worthwhile gamble for sure. It was really fun for a few months.

I was only able to read the free content but The Athletic dropped a new article on teams picking up on pitchers tells. Unsurprisingly the Brewers are apparently mentioned heavily.

If be reticent to spend when the team that has owned us for 7 years has a payroll 60% of ours. It would not surprise me to see a cut like that. They got their championship, profit is #1 and they probably care very little about much else besides not being embarrassed by the Brewers anymore. Spending more hasn't stopped that from occurring. Catching the Brewers in player development is key. I'm not so sure a guy like Turang or Collins hits 100 with us, let alone 125. What are they doing to get all these offensive success stories? horsefeathers Andrew Vaughn and horsefeathers.

Soto made 31m in 2024. Tucker made 16. The quantity and quality of USEFUL pieces you can get with those dollar amounts is vastly different.

Call me crazy but I dont think we will win many playoff games with 4 hits. The offense has been horrendous in the playoffs. Both compartments have been ass in this series, however.

How the horsefeathers are players still dropping the ball before crossing the plane. Absolutely insane that this keeps happening. Pretty much cost the Cardinals a win yesterday.

More teams are able to mold their system around the passer not vice versa as many teams did, and I think this breeds confidence as it plays into their strengths and they can play more fluidly without thinking as much.

This is absurd. Theres a day off and he didnt use a single reliever of consequence. Soroka, Civale, and Ben Brown are not half the pen, and again they get a day off. And he didnt put them in 2nd place by using his players too much. They got 2nd place because the Brewers won 80% of their games over a 60 game stretch. The Cubs played great all year and had the 4th best record in the league. They played like a 1st place team.
