    You can criticize Lou's handling of the team all you want. Calling him a huge douchebag is entirely inappropriate. Are there 7 year olds present or something?

    Yeah, if you're interested in winning this crappy division with 86 wins and then getting destroyed in the playoffs. If our rotation is struggling, then how about instead of trading for a second baseman, we trade for a pitcher? Is that such a radical idea?

    How about when he used a long reliever for one out in a game where the bullpen was getting crushed? How about when he put in Fontenot for Cedeno for NO reason?

    Yeah, he's been pretty brutal so far this season. I don't remember him being this bad in 2007.

    lolol at "hiding" him in the 7th hole. It's still a spot in the lineup. He'll still be batting. Stop putting such a ridiculous amount of emphasis on lineup construction. Also, I'd much rather have him striking out with nobody on base than striking out with guys on base, which he'd be doing batting 7th. BUT, this thread is not about Soriano. If you want to continue getting schooled in the other thread, then post over there.

    For like a week. Why? He's been lights out for the majority of his appearances, which have almost all come in long relief. The guy needs to get into the rotation. Well what do you mean by "he is the answer"? He's not the answer for us winning the division and certainly not for us winning the World Series. I like Lieber and I like what he's done so far, but let's be realistic. He's a mid to high 4's ERA pitcher at best at this point of his career and probably wouldn't stay healthy the whole season. He's good to have in sitations like this, but he's a band-aid, a back end of the rotation starter maybe. Going into the season we needed Hill to perform like last season. Replacing him with a number 5 starter is not "the answer" unless it's only for a couple weeks until Hill finds his command in Iowa. If we don't have the good Rich Hill, then this rotation is going to be in serious serious trouble when Ryan Dempster remembers he's Ryan Dempster (and it's only a matter of time before it all catches up to Ryan so let's not kid ourselves).

    This is from Lou after the game: That being said, putting him in the pen would be stupid. We need him as a starter this season. If he has to be removed, then let him start in Iowa until he finds his control.

    Wait... so you're saying it's the Cubs fault that he walked 4 of the 6 guys he faced tonight? No I'm not, but it certainly could have contributed to his struggle. Are you telling me that giving a guy who is suffering from control problems 9 days off is a good way to remedy control problems? Hill is struggling, I'm not saying he's not, but they ar handlingim poorly and not helping. They need to be doing everything possible to help him re-gain his 2007 form, and giving him 9 days off does not do that. He needs to be starting every 5th day, whether its here or in Iowa.
