wow, that was brutal -
they easily cleared 60 wins this year? they won 61 and their pythagorean wins were 59. they lost their last 4 games of the season because lebron wasn't playing

ok, now i'm actually getting invested in this. i can't believe this has a realistic chance of having him we could have lebron, rose, and noah on the same team next year.

i don't really get the point of these comments. people have this memory of jordan who would singlehandedly will his team to victory in the playoffs - and yes, he usually took the last shot - but he had good players around him and that's why they won. lebron has mediocre players around him and doesn't win. maybe he's not as good as jordan but it's dumb to denigrate him against a guy who clearly had a better supporting cast. i'm referring more to the effort and general body language of lebron. so far, lebron has shown none of the mental qualities that made jordan so special.

Yeah, it usually isn't shown on TV. I remember the Wolves lost a playoff game on the delayed penalty back earlier this decade. They were on the good end of delayed penalty and as soon as the extra attacker went on the ice, they lost control of the puck and the puck found the back of their own net in OT. That was just about as strange of a finish as when Boyle put the puck in the back of his own net in OT. I knew about the extra attacker for quite some time, but that was only thanks to the video games. The announcers only mention it when they have the puck for a sustained amount of time, enabling the 6th attacker to get out there. Here's yours. pat foley :good: -

but penalty shot success rates are still well under 50%, right? so by taking the penalty shot, you're making it so the odds are in favor of you getting NOTHING out of it. you take the pp, and you not only are the odds in favor of you getting something, it's a guarantee. worst case scenario, you get 2 minutes of the opposition being shorthanded. and when you consider the relatively small difference between PP% and PS%, the addition of 2 PP minutes makes it seem like a no brainer for me. again though, that's only when you're trying to hold a lead late.

yeah they are, and in most cases i'd agree that the penalty shot is better. but when you have a 2 goal lead with 7 minutes left, i think the 2 minutes of the team trying to come back being shorthanded is more valuable. even if you don't score, you've wiped 2 crucial minutes off the clock.

people hate jim hendry for his win-loss record? isn't his w-l record pretty decent since taking over? that's not why people dislike him. they dislike him because he makes way more crappy moves than good moves. it's as simple as that.
