why do we keep pretending like the cubs couldn't have pivoted to dominant relievers? a LOT of those were moved. if it's true that the prices on SP were too damn high, then go after a high leverage reliever

we're counting on boyd/shota/taillon as a 1-2-3 in the playoffs, IF Boyd somehow makes it all the way there. not getting a playoff SP was huge. also we're trying to win a division and get a bye.

there is no other version of jed. he's basically assured that they'll win the 85 games they set out to. ownership is happy and jed gets his extension.
