  1. I better start taunting the Don, then. :) Raisin is going to be the AJP of NSBB! For the record, I have to taunt more politely than AJP:
  2. Game-time temperature: 46°F Feels like: 41°F Winds blowing from RF to LF at about 10 mph.
  3. Oh lord...That pitch by Howry...two pitches before the HR.... I said a string of words so bad I'm pretty sure I secured my place in hell. You secured your place in hell the minute you became a Packer's fan. Yes!
  4. To piggyback on that, what does Rafael throw besides his mid-90s FB?
  5. Actually, I believe you and craig gave us info on Dolis including the correct DOB and height/weight info last summer.
  6. I better start taunting the Don, then. :)
  7. Daytona still leads it 3-2 after 7 innings. Daytona hasn't gotten a hit since the first inning. Is striking out the side in the 2nd good enough for you? Of course, he also gave up a single and a walk. Peoria up 1-0 on doubles by Carter and Lewis. There ya go, Rafael. Peoria got another run in the 3rd to lead it 2-0.
  8. Daytona now up 3-2 in the middle of the 6th. Jesse Estrada has had a shutout inning of relief after Scott Taylor. Taylor's final line: 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 1 WP. Peoria is scoreless after 1. Rafael Dolis only had 1 K in the first inning.
  9. Iowa @ Albuquerque: Fontenot SS Patterson, E 2B Pie, F CF Hoffpauir 1B Hill C Moore LF Coats RF McGehee, C 3B Marmol P Iowa Cubs Game Notes, April 9
  10. Peoria @ Burlington: Camp 2B Lopez DH Lansford 3B Canzler 1B Joseph CF Carter RF Johnston SS Lewis LF Canepa C Dolis P
  11. Oh, and still no Tyler Colvin in the lineup. 3-1 now after 4. Taylor: 4 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 WP (scored the run) Daytona's lineup: Amador CF Spears, N 2B Reynolds 3B Norwood 1B Rick DH Valdez LF Adduci RF Reed C Matulia SS Taylor P
  12. Daytona scored 3 in the bottom of the first and lead it 3-0 in the bottom of the second. Scott Taylor: 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 K, 1 BB
  13. I only saw a couple innings during my lunch break - could someone tell me what was wrong with Boyd/the umpiring?
  14. Game-time temperature: 39°F Feels like: 35°F 30% chance of Snow Flurries Winds blowing out to RF at 5 mph.
  15. He did. Haven't you disowned him yet? I did a long time ago.
  16. Still loaded with Rush, Chalmers, and Collins. I think Rush goes pro too. Still a strong team.
  17. I don't think so. I've heard from a few people he had awful command during spring training. And he had that problem the past two seasons in Mesa and Boise. What's the problem? He didn't have extreme control issues in HS. In high school, he could throw it down the middle and blow everyone away. When he was drafted, they talked about some mechanical issues. It seems that he has had them each spring, then gets straightened out during the year. Yup. And the pitching coach who is credited with really helping him last season in Boise is now the pitching coach at Peoria.
  18. I don't think so. I've heard from a few people he had awful command during spring training. And he had that problem the past two seasons in Mesa and Boise.
  19. Ridiculous. "Zero mound presence"? "Act"? As if anyone would act like that on the mound artificially. Zambrano's comments were a little odd and not very polite, but Estrada can stick it as far as I'm concerned. If I was an opposing player, I would hate Zambrano for his act on the mound. If I was an opposing player, I'd keep my mouth shut about Z's antics. 97+ mph up and in ends careers. Not after Z's comments, I wouldn't. If a player was afraid of 97+ mph up and in, he wouldn't be able to stand in the batter's box in the big leagues.
  20. That was the plan, but with Marshall and Mateo in EXT, Marmol was forced into the rotation. I have no problem with that - even if he ends up as a reliever or closer, he really could use all the innings he can get. I'd love it if he was starting even after Marshall and Mateo are back in Iowa.
