  1. Z (8-1, 2.51 ERA) @ Lowe (3-5, 4.17 ERA) Read in the LA Times that Jeff Kent gets the day off. Maybe he can be ejected from the dugout today. It looks like it'll be a hot one...temps in the 80s. Ball should be flying out. Look for me in the second level down the RF line.

  8. The Dodgers only let him throw 1 inning in his start yesterday with no explanation given (he's not hurt). He's scheduled to start on Tuesday for Jacksonville, and that's when the Dodgers vacant 5th starter spot throws. Of course that would mean he'd be making his big league debut against the Cubs.
  9. How much longer till he takes the mound?

  14. Here are the first round matchups: WEST No. 1 L.A. Lakers vs. No. 8 Denver No. 2 New Orleans vs. No. 7 Dallas No. 3 San Antonio vs. No. 6 Phoenix No. 4 Utah vs. No. 5 Houston EAST No. 1 Boston vs. No. 8 Atlanta No. 2 Detroit vs. No. 7 Philadelphia No. 3 Orlando vs. No. 6 Toronto No. 4 Cleveland vs. No. 5 Washington While I'm not really looking forward to any of the first round matchups in the East, all four Western matchups seem to be entertaining. Predictions, anyone?

  17. The Cubs get him back if Toronto can't trade him or outright him in 10 days. Also of Rule 5 note, Tim Lahey was designated for assignment a few days ago by the Phils. If he makes it back to the Twins, we'll see if he comes back to the Cubs as the PTBNL for Craig Monroe. Link on Wells transaction: linky.

  25. Started over the weekend. Two Domincan teams (with Puerto Rico having disbanded their winter league), one Venezuelan team and one Mexican team. Licey is one of the Dominican teams but they only have Carlos Marmol on their roster (no Felix Pie) and Aragua is the Venezuelan team but they don't have Ronny Cedeño on their roster. I-Cubs manager Buddy Bailey is the Aragua manager.
