  1. MiLB.com's Palm Beach web site has Daytona starting RHP Todd Blackford (0-0, 4.80 ERA, 15 IP, 10 K/6 BB, .278 BAA). I guess he's healthy and off the DL.
  2. The strangest part of Samardzija's outing today was that none of the hits he gave up were for extra bases. He also had no double plays. What that means is anyone's guess, but still, weird. Well, he's only given up 3 XBHs all season.
  3. Just like Ohman at the big leagues vs. righties, Rapada's early season AAA performance has shown that he's only a LOOGY - he's faced too many righties at AAA (and obviously struggled).
  4. My old college roommate is at the game, I can't wait to hear what it was like. ETA: Apparently they showed him in the crowd on TNT right after Baron's midcourt shot!
  5. Hey, Jessica Alba is in the stands. She's very good friends with Baron Davis. Jessica Alba is a huge UCLA fan.
  6. MATT BARNES!!!!! The former Bruins are at it again! :)
  7. Lame, that looked like a travel in the backcourt!
  8. Ugh, get some defensive rebounds, GSW.
  9. I don't know who's starting for Daytona - could be Atkins who was bumped two days ago for a spot starter. If Blackford is healthy again, it could be him. I was planning on listening to the postgame show on the radio today but the end of the Bulls game was still on.
  10. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Carlos Marmol (2-1, 2.91 ERA, 21.2 IP) Tennessee: RHP Sean Gallagher (2-2, 4.19 ERA, 19.1 IP) Daytona: ?? Peoria: RHP Jose Ceda (2-1, 5.65 ERA, 14.1 IP) Marmol: 21.2 IP, 27 K/8 BB, .200 BAA Gallagher: 19.1 IP, 20 K/5 BB, .219 BAA ?? Ceda: 14.1 IP, 15 K/6 BB, .173 BAA
  11. On the other hand, the entire system of coaches didn't come with Wilken from Toronto either. Certianly true, but I wouldn't want Wilken to pick someone he views as inferior just because they are more advanced.
  12. Psh, won't matter. The Warriors will win this series!
  13. But Wilken hasn't taken part in the previous HS selections. He has a good reputation with reason.
  14. I saw Moore in the Sun Bowl, and he seemed competent. Didn't really get a chance to show off much arm strength, and he had the presence of mind to repeatedly dump off to running backs on the game winning drive(although I think they were trying to that after about 5 times). Don't know how well he'll project in the NFL though. Good arm, awful accuracy, not the brightest bulb around - his previous 3 seasons had been brutal. Questionable teammate, fought a lot with Karl Dorrell because Drew Olson got to start over him.
  15. The problem is that you have to have two parties to make a trade. If they could work something for Ogun, it would probably just be a dump where they don't get much in return. Brown could possibly bring value back. So it depends on whether you think there's more benefit to freeing up the cap space or in getting something in return as to which player would be the right one to deal. Whether they should make a deal or not is another question. I think if that's the case, the cap space is more important. The difference in the cap space is more at this point than the difference in the return you'd get back from each. I don't think either will bring back something that fulfills a need. How about Alex Brown, Lance Briggs, and the Bears #1 in 2008 for Rocky McIntosh and the rights to LaRon Landry. I agree.
  16. I really like Darby, he had a real down year last year but is still a nice talent and could easily rebound.
  17. Oh, ok. There's Israel, he makes 5...but one is a rookie. I don't see the value in trading one of the DEs (and I'd definitely trade Ogun over AB) at this point.
  18. What is the DE rotation right now? Alex Brown, Adewale Ogunleye, Mark Anderson and Bazuin now, right? That's not enough DEs to actually trade one yet, not the way Lovie and co. like to rotate d-linemen.
  19. Alex Brown is most certainly the wrong DE to trade. I know Ogunleye is popular in the locker room and Bazuin brings a lot of the same things that Brown does, but Ogunleye's play is worse and he's paid more.
  20. Dodgers win it 5-4 in 17 at Petco...Brady Clark had the GW RBI double to score Juan Valdez.
  21. LA now with a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the 17th but San Diego is threatening.
  22. Ugh, Mendez gets two outs and then gives up a 3-run HR. Veal: 6+ IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 9 K/2 BB, 1 HR. Veal's ERA down to 8.86.
