  1. If we went the Marlins' route, wouldn't we be a young team? We could go down that path with a team like this: C: Barrett, Soto 1B: Lee 2B: Patterson, Cedeno SS: Izturis 3B: Ramirez LF: Murton, Nic Jackson CF: Pie, Walker RF: Jones SP: Z SP: Marshall SP: Marmol/Guzman SP: Hill SP: Prior/Wood (placed this low because I won't rely on them for anything) RP: Marmol/Guzman (whichever one doesn't start) RP: Williams RP: Ohman RP: Eyre RP: Howry RP: Aardsma Closer: Wuertz That follows the Marlins' plan pretty closely, is pretty cheap, and would probably be better than this year.
  2. I've caught it a few times, but it's always interesting to watch. Too bad I'm not of legal age to go out and try them all yet.
  3. or feeding paranoia about Aramis leaving. I don't mind it...put pressure on Hendry to make a move.
  4. Defensively it's a good move because now hopefully Neifi doesn't get as many starts, but it is short-sighted offensively.
  5. Did I just miss him, or did they not mention Macias? He was in there...everyone I remember plus some were in there, excellent video.
  6. Tacoma just switched pitchers too....both pitchers going out this early with no apparent problems is rather odd.
  7. He's going to Japan...hopefully he can bring some good prospects back with him!
  8. During the rain delay coverage they just showed Speier working with Ronny and Theriot on 2B fielding. Is anyone else surprised he's back so soon?
  9. I think they're just trying to keep them all playing everyday right now because I really dont' see any other reason to hold them back. With Fuld turning 25 later this year, and Walker already at 26 I think this is a bad move. Fuld needs a challenge, even if it's not everyday. I don't see any harm in moving them arond between CF and LF just to give them a new challenge and help their value.
  10. He can't be worse than Bynum or Pagan.
  11. Dukes was suspended for 5 games for arguing balls and strikes? He must have said every single magic word in the dictionary plus some to get that.
  12. 15? Where does he play? At 15 I'd think he's a bit young to be considered a serious pitching prospect at the big-league level, and his bat at this age is presumably not noteworthy yet either; what's the report on him?
  13. I like that idea, too. .. .. I just haven't figured out who wuld be our lead off hitter. Our fearless leaders would be tempted to put Izturis there. Or sign Soriano and use him there.... Soriano will be looking to move back to 2B though which does nothing to help our OF. I'd rather keep Izturis/Cedeno up the middle and try for a big bat in the OF. If we decide that Murton isn't the answer in LF, I wouldn't mind seeing Hendry go after Mench if he's rather cheap and then go all-out for a RF.
  14. Well I believe this now qualifies as a quality start for Hill doesn't it?
  15. How has Hill looked tonight? His control looks decent from gameday, is he still sitting 91-92 with his FB? Is his curve any good tonight?
  16. What about when they execute a sac bunt and fail to score a run in that inning?
  17. Seems like a rather high draft pick for him IMO. Since the Royals traded for Gathright, Dejesus has been playing in LF. I'm not sure what the positional eligibility rules are, but at this point I'd be rather worried that he loses his CF eligibility.
  18. Scott Moore and Jake Fox homered in the Jaxx's 5-2 win today. In Pavlik's first start, he went 7IP 4H 2R 3/2 K/BB and he got his first win. Campusano got the save going 2IP 1H 3/2 K/BB.
  19. How about Ortiz? He just hit another walk-off 3R homer for the Red Sox with 2 on and 1 out in the bottom of the 9th.
  20. Pavlik actually got the start for West Tenn, not Mateo. It looks like he's responded well to it though, so far he's gone 7IP 3H 0R 3/1 K/BB 5/13 GO/FO
  21. I hope that Jerome Williams gets another shot at starting in the bigs. Guzman has struggled a little bit lately.
  22. Probably Aardsma again.
  23. Why is Barrett hitting 6th, and also hitting behind Mabry and Jones?
  24. He's due $4.15 million next year, and there is a $5.45 million option for 08 with a club buyout for $300k.
  25. The video has been removed for copyright infringement...didn't get to see it in time.
