  1. Oh, man, Jones was waving him initially and then Javy put his head down and started running harder. So he missed the stop sign.
  2. I wonder if Javy was assuming the ball went all the way back into the corner instead of hitting where the wall juts out and have it sitting there in shallow rf.
  3. okay, all you people that want the Cubs to go for home no matter what....that's what that looks like.
  4. btw - their FIP is still really damn good compared to the rest of baseball.
  5. If they were suddenly seeing results in line with their FIP / xFIP, then that would be regressing to the mean. Nobody expected them to remain a full run better than that forever.
  6. He should really be a LF, if nothing else.
  7. Your words, not mine. Lol. Those were literally your words yesterday bruh. Also, I don't think you know what "literally" means.
  8. Your words, not mine. Lol. Those were literally your words yesterday bruh. You have reading issues. I'll use smaller words: You are having an overly emotional response to the cold streak and it is making you think things are worse than they actually are.
  9. ah, now the part where Lackey gets squeezed.
  10. lol - Lackey almost hit one off the scoreboard in RF.
  11. Man, the Pirates are being generous so far. Marte ran into that out. For those not watching, Baez booted the ground ball, but kept it in front of him. Despite it being a grounder to third, Marte ran on the play, anyway. Baez had no chance to get the hitter at first, but was able to run Marte back to second base, toss it to Zobrist to tag him out.
  12. Independent events. What happened yesterday has literally nothing to do with what happens today.
  13. Yeah, easily could have been one. The ball was hit really hard, though.
  14. no fear - Bucktooth's got this.
  15. Addison smoked a line drive that the third baseman deflected with his glove into left center field. Zobrist and Rizzo scored, Contreras made it to third.
  16. Woo! the Rats can't catch the ball today. Both of those balls were scalded, though.
  17. For those not watching... Willson is out there despite having hurt his foot last night. He's limping a lot on the basepaths.
  18. I liked positive Kyle a lot better.
  19. Fortunately that does not suddenly make him a bad pitcher or bad target. Momentary/Single game results over a handful innings for a guy with his background are tertiary at best. Such as Chris Sale being rocked for 8 runs by an even worse offense the night before. I don't disagree, I just thought it was a funny time to be raving about the guy.
  20. what is this nonsense? He's probably playing his salsa music so loudly during the pitching prep meetings that nobody can hear anything, amirite?
  21. There is a correlation. But there is no reason to believe there is any causation.
  22. I don't think people realize how average Jorge Soler actually is. He had a 0.1 fWAR in 99 games last year and has a -0.1 fWAR so far this year. Dude is literally a replacement level player right now. The Cubs can't afford to wait and see what they might have in Soler. On that note, I've watched an abnormal number of Jays games lately. Junior Lake is horrible at every facet of baseball, and he is every day player for them. ? He only has 21 AB.
  23. Grimm getting his horsefeathers together would be a positive development.
