Okay so I just joined this board a couple of weeks ago but I had been actively reading threads on this forum since the beginning of this season so obviously I wasn't here last year. I have to say thanks to David for posting this link and to OMC for being so damn epic in that thread. I can't recall the last time I laughed so hard. As if the Arrieta stuff wasn't good enough...once I got to the Stephen/J.D. Drew comment I hit the floor. That made may Friday evening already. a whole paragraph and you couldn't even give me a like??!!? Sorry man I'm a total message board noob... I guess I'm supposed to click on those hearts for that?

Had a slow roasted lamb at my wedding. My wife and I were in our late teens and friends and family catered the whole thing and we didn't pay a dime. Food was home cooked and much better than the high dollar catering companies that serve typical weddings.

It looks very unlikely we will be able to catch the Pirates and play the WC game at Wrigley...their final series is against the Reds. Can't see them losing 2 out of 3 to that team.

anytime i go to a bar by myself in a situation like this, i end up on some insane adventure that said, that beats having to behave around your boss. Nothing beats a bad drunk giants fan friend hanging with his patriots fan boss doing lawyer [expletive] during the 18-1 super bowl. Did you have a job the next day?

I'm already getting that nervous feeling in the pit of my gut just thinking about the possibility of losing that game. I'm also seriously considering putting in a request for next Thursday off work because I don't think I will be able to sleep if they win and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to function for a whole day (at least) if they lose.

Well at least Opie Maddux is out of the game. Now maybe we can touch up their bull pen for a late innings rally.

Hendricks is looking good but my goodness this Brewers line-up is horrendous.

If you're voting Arrieta, you're basically saying it's because he has 20 wins (which Greinke could still get to). Greinke has a lower WHIP (0.85 to 0.90), lower ERA (1.65 to 1.88) and higher bWAR (8.7 to 7.4). Kershaw has a higher fWAR (7.8 to 6.2, though that's before tonight), strikes out way more 11.39 K/9 to 9.17), and has a better FIP (2.09 to 2.51). Both of the other two also walk fewer guys. I think the main reason Arrieta is getting such attention for the Cy Young despite Kershaw and Greinke's numbers being better is the timing of his dominant run. Best era in a 10 game stretch since Bob Gibson. That being said, it is an award for the entire year and it's not like the other 2 have been off their game during that time either.
