http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3437067 I think Bonds would play for cheap, I think he's past the money. I really believe he just wants to play and play for a winner. I don't think he'd be a problem in the clubhouse and I think he'd be relatively quiet with the media (after the initial surge of him returning). If he did become a problem, I don't think he'd be around long, because this team realizes what could come of this year, and I don't think they are going to let a player distract them from getting to that goal. I'd take Bonds on this team in a second. Sure, but what do you do with Bonds when Soriano comes back? Bonds will not want to be a platoon player or someone coming off the bench. That's when he would become a distraction. Maybe, but you also don't know that. You can explain the situation to him before he signs, and if he isn't feeling it, then don't sign it. If he's ok with it but then becomes a distraction, cut him, you won't be paying him a whole lot anyways. If he agrees to it, you've got an incredible fourth outfielder who will give you the ability to give Soriano some time off, because his hand will be hurting him from time to time I'm sure. The whole thing is definitely a risk, but I think it's definitely worth a shot, especially if you can land him to a cheap 1 year deal.
