  6. He's said stuff that's a lot stupider than that. Stupider ???
  7. Some of us remember the 103 loss seasons of '62 & '65. This team, with it's injuries, could end up being that bad. Others of us remember that it was 66, not 65. :P What I remember about that era is that 65 was the last year of the College of Coaches, at least in name (the rotating head coach system was abolished a couple years earlier in favor of a single head coach, Bob Kennedy, who was therefore a de facto manager). Following the 65 season the College was completely scrapped and Leo Durocher was hired as manager. He promptly declared that the Cubs were not an 8th place team, and in 66 they proved him right by finishing 10th. What a great decade that was !!! 1956 60 94 0.390 8 1957 62 92 0.403 7 1958 72 82 0.468 5 1959 74 80 0.481 5 1960 60 94 0.390 7 1961 64 90 0.416 7 1962 59 103 0.364 9 1963 82 80 0.506 7 1964 76 86 0.469 8 1965 72 90 0.444 8 1966 59 103 0.364 10 One winning season, and an overall record of 740-994 (0.4268). Only the Kansas City (now Oakland) A's had a worse record over that period.
  8. That would be the logical next step in fecal league competition. Oh, we're getting there !! 9. It occurs to me..... that maybe we're doing this game thread thing all wrong. Instead of having a guy keep going until he loses a game..... maybe we should make him keep going until he wins one, eh?
