Wish I could use them, Fred. The Cubs haven't won since I left town. I tried telling the wife that meant I needed to go back and spend the summer in Chicago attending every game. I thought the Pirates traded Dumatrait toward the end of the season last year..... but I can't find anything about it on Baseball Reference. I must have been thinking about somebody else. Evidently, Dumatrait is still the property of the Pirates, but he's on the DL these days. Oh well.... I sure did like it when we drew him for an opponent. eta: Hell, the CUBS haven't scored 16 runs in their last 8 games combined !!!

They simply didn't get it done. In the context of 101 years of no WS ring, last season was a failure. Same for 2007. Those were not good teams. I'll agree that they didn't achieve the ultimate goal of a championship. That part is true. Howver, you don't win 97 games not being a good team.
