  1. I wanna see your spoiler happen vs. Cleveland on Tuesday. And a couple times more after that.
  2. You mean in the British sense of the word? no, his baby did not look pleased. Oh, poor thing. Yeah a little crazy for a wee one tonight.
  3. You mean in the British sense of the word?
  4. I was a bit surprised not to see him tonight. I mean, given Roberts's tendency to throw everything but the kitchen sink, I thought it might be three inn of Kershaw, Hill, and Jantzen for this game and if there were a Game 7.
  5. I was 6 in 89 and still hate will clark & williams Steve Garvey is my nemesis.
  6. Can't find my post abt Bill Murray. Is actually the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Still, I think he might have bailed on the award thingy if there had been a Game 7. BUT THERE WILL BE NO GAME 7!!! :D
  7. I think I'd better go to Mass tomorrow.
  8. That's so [expletive] weird. As a kid I grew up in Kentucky watching the Cubs on WGN. The two are strangely linked in my emotional nostalgia. Once upon a time, WGN broadcast 150 Cub games a year. I spent a lot of summers from 1983-1990 tuned in.
  9. I bet Bill Murray is real happy he doesn't have to duck out of the Kennedy Center Honors now.
  10. I told my 19 yo cat that I was so happy I could hug him for this.
  11. Just keep the ballpark in good condition, fans.
  12. I so hope Schwarbie can get in on the fun.
  13. [expletive] there IS crying in baseball.
  14. Anyone still sitting down at home, GOYA!!!!
  15. That's because it's all the national media idiots and non-Cub fans can talk about right now. I almost want to watch Game 6 in a bar with no sound so I don't have to hear Joe horsefeathers opine endlessly about Steve [expletive] Bartman. I decided to put off my Sling TV subscription unless and until the Cubs win the LCS. I'm not into dealing with Buck's BS any longer than I have to.
  16. Dusty Baker is like that gaslighting b/f that charms everyone. The gaslightee is never believed, and once they escape they're like, "Are you KIDDING me?! Don't you SEE it?! He's awful! "
  17. The front office deserves more blame than they got as well. Lack of leadership to handle the head-case players. Eric Karros might have done something to relieve the pressure of the situation on the field, but with Randall Simon's propensity for epically-long AB, EK didn't even appear in the game until the bottom of that disastrous 8th (as a PH). I don't think I could ever bring myself to watch that inning again. Maybe if the Cubs do win a WS.
  18. Damn unprofessional of him. You shake your head and reset. Until Zobrist got something going (he IS a leader) the other day, I was afraid I was witnessing a SS,DD (or year, in this case) when Lackey started shouting at Contreras after that second C interference and walking the first two guys. Luckily, unlike Dusty Baker even nowadays, Maddon seems to know when to pull a pitcher and when not to pull a pitcher, for the most part. They say that catchers make the best managers, and I think it's true. Always wondered whether Dusty having been OF as a player made him a manager who was good, but not necessarily great.
  19. I would have thrown an F somewhere in that alphabet soup acronym, but I concur. And I hope the Cubs don't choke again with two chances, at Wrigley, to advance.
  20. I fear for Wrigley's structural integrity a bit, should the Cubs get that NLCS-clinching W. Need to keep her standing if they get to the WS!
  21. Right?! As soon as some noob spouts off about Bartman like they know some history, I quickly school them about Agony being the goat. You pay a guy $5.5 M and he gets handcuffed by a routine DP ball at a crucial moment?! And that bastard NEVER apologized for it, either. Second place goes to Dusty and Rothschild, who apparently had their bums superglued to the bench while Prior imploded. The thing about that team, is that I don't recall it having a lot of leaders. Sammy was always pretty much for Sammy, Alou showed his prima donna tendencies, and poor Kerry had to take it all on his shoulders. I mean, if Mark Grace had still been playing and a Cub, he would have called the IF in, told a crass joke, and Prior would have gotten out of the inning. And then once they all got into the dugout, Grace would have threatened Alou and Agony within an inch of their lives against behaving like such jerks again.
  22. Eh, not with the wife tweeting and all. She could kick his ass.
