With the remaining outfield options, I think the best choice is try and get Ben Revere from the Phillies. He can play center, good speed and a a good contact hitter. it would take at least Valbuena and a prospect.

A climbing K rate that is starting to enter Javy territory and one foul tip away from retirement. I'll pass on that. damn, I liked his splits against rhp and thought he'd be a good platoon partner with beefy at a fraction of the cost of Montero. I didn't see the k%. The last thing this lineup needs is two starters that k at that rate. -

With the Russell martin signing, How about this 3 way trade with the Astros and tigers -Tigers receive Chris Corporan and Brian Schlitter -Astros receive Luis Valbuena -Cubs receive Alex Avilia. I saw a proposal like this on bcb and thought this was much better fit than Montero from the D-backs
