  1. nah, it was a bad play, but nothing worse than some other "great" left fielders have made. He'll be a DH on the downhill side of his career, but don't write him off on one play. He got a little lazy. My guess is it will motivate him. I don't think it is laziness. He just doesn't read the ball well or see it some times. If you watch the play again, you can clearly see him jogging before he realizes he is out of position and he tries to sprint to the ball. He routinely does this. Some of his more "spectacular" catches were because he was out of position on the ball and managed to run it down. Show your work. Because the defensive metrics out there disagree with you, and no offense, but you're just a guy on a message board.
  2. More 4D chess by the Cubs, because Dusty won't pull him with the no hitter going.
  3. The only thing that would've worked is if that geriatric could have somehow hit is softer.
  4. No Ron, Scherzer doesn't know Contreras' last 52 AB's with runners in scoring position.
  5. This Rizzo AB is the most annoying thing ever. Cockshot take. Foul ball on a pitch at his ear. He better dong.
  6. He's left a couple beach balls up there but nobody is making swinging/making contact. I watch a lot of his starts for fake baseball purposes and I don't see the same crispness out of his hand. Breakers are all up and very hittable. Anyone have a swing and miss counter?
  7. is washed up old guy a name? No it may be an accurate description. I think someone on the last page called him a worthless piece of horsefeathers That was me. He has no range, no arm and can't hit. We don't need to run him out there because he won us the World Series. Best nine players would be a novel concept this postseason.
  8. I love that Dusty refuses to take Werth's corpse out of the lineup, that base hit not withstanding.
  9. Scherzer's velocity was down a bit. Edit: Maybe not. I guess he hit 96 on the last pitch to Rizzo. Probably ramping up.
