He technically struck out Yelich, he got hit on the hand but swung at it. Pitch deflected onto umps knee so he was too disoriented to call for an appeal or anything. Got a boardline call on a high curve to Perez. His one hit was to Gamel which no Cub pitcher can retire, so no fault there. Already leaped Holland on the lefty pecking order.

No, they were making sure he didn’t injure himself further. Beyond that, it wasn’t Maddon’s call. He does a lot of dumbass horsefeathers, but that’s not on him. Even if you give Maddon a pass for this one, it’s not the first time this year he’s yanked a starter out who was cruising. He’s done it with Darvish at least one other time and, I think, Hendricks a couple times. That’s why I said he does a of dumbass horsefeathers. I’m not giving Maddon a pass, the pitch count was 75 pitches. He was at 72.

Be negative all you want. They deserve the negativity. I just thought it was humorous that people were crying on an inning we put up 3, Schwarber drew a wal then the ump called it a strike, and Rizzo hit a good ball. Castellanos is the only one who didn’t do well and even he fouled a couple off and extended the at bat(obviously still not good enough in that situation, but it’s baseball in 2019).

For game thread readers we score 3 in the inning that people hate this team from. Castellanos struck out with a man at 3rd and 1 out. Rizzo made good contact with 2 outs and Cain ran it down.

the cardinals series is almost 2 weeks away. the difference between winning or losing the last game against the brewers is huge. 2 games out instead of 4 gives them life. the brewers are closer to them than the cardinals are. YUP. But based on tonight's lineup and tomorrow's pitching choice, it's like they aren't even taking this series seriously. That said, I suppose Hendricks would have sucked any way. Lester has allowed 1 run vs the Brewers in 2 starts and has been hit pretty hard by the Cardinals this year by giving up 9 runs in 2 starts. Not quite sure why people are denying the logic of the situation. Quit crying about the Brewers catching us. If we can’t hold onto the wild card we don’t deserve the playoffs anyway.
