Thanks for the advice i appreciate it. One more question though, it says that the Ivy will start to show on the outfield wall? I seem to remember it started to show earlier than usual last year.
Hello chaps I wanted to ask your opinions on a few things if i may. Im looking to make a trip over to Chicago this year with it being Wrigley's 100th year i thought now would be a good time to go. Im looking to go at the beginning of May as were at home to the Cards and with the Crosstown Classic it looks like a great set of games to watch but im wondering where are the best places to sit for atmosphere within the ground and also when do the tickets go on general sale as ive seen some of the prices on stubhub but i thought i would try to buy them directly from the team. I also intend to attend the reverse fixture at Cominsky but whats the general rule about Cubs and Sox fans sitting together any agro or is it friendly?
On a slightly different note and im admittedly not that knowledgeable on Baseball but would a trade for Price mean the end of the slow build process seeing as it would take most of our higher rated prospects to get a deal done?
The way this team is playing baseball is in poor form so I think it balances out. The ethos from the FO and owners is suck now and have a better future because of it, maybe Rizzo and Castro are buying into that a bit too much.
I agree with this. I dont want the FO to trade away player from the Farm System just for short term players when ultimately it doesnt mean anything if we are close to .500 come July i still want us to be looking to trade Garza/Marmol/Soriano and DeJesus rather than keeping them together just to appease the fans.
There's no reason to move a guy off a position he is more valuable at until you absolutely have to. It's not going to take some crazy learning/development curve to move one of them from SS to 3B ultimately. Oh i understand that its not a big leap from SS to 3B as he would have the skill set to play that position and i take on board what you have just said.
Im in the No camp when it comes to trading for Price. We have a need for a top pitcher and Price would fit the bill but we also have a big need to improve the hitting in the team and we would most likely have to give up most of our hitting prospects to get Price which is too steep in my opinion. I did wonder though before the season began reading about Baez and how he wouldnt be moved to 3B and would continue his development in the minors as a SS which i thought was strange seeing as we have a need for a 3B and have Castro at SS not unless Baez is being groomed as part of a potential trade for Price.
Talking about the new T.V deal what would be the big contributing factors in how much we can hope to make a deal for. Is it merely down to the agreement for the Cubs to play more night games which is the biggest part to any new deal and would a competitive team do more to help sell the broadcasting rights?
