Looking at a similar case involving Erick Aybar from 2012 where he fouled a ball off his toe and had x-rays and originally they were inconclusive showing a "small line" on his right big toe (http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/8193497/los-angeles-angels-say-erick-aybar-x-rays-show-small-line-big-toe). After the MRI, they determined it was fractured. He did it on July 21st but was able to come back from the DL on August 6th (http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/06/erick-aybar-back-from-disabled-list-after-fractured-toe/). I would assume the Cubs would probably come close to shutting Bryant down though with the season nearing an end.
