  1. A 26 year old should have a better understanding of the zone.
  2. Daaamn, those were cutting like crazy too.
  3. is this gonna be another reverse run differential game
  4. "Underwhelming" isn't how I'd describe his performance lately.
  5. What's the story with Heyward's swing again? Was it a wrist injury earlier in his career that made him change his swing that sapped his power?
  6. Ewwww, why are we throwing offspeed pitches to De Aza in 3 ball counts?
  7. David Wright isn't sitting in the dugout because of safety reasons? That CAN'T be true. Joe Buck HAD to have just made that up.
  8. I get why everyone ASSUMES Schwarber is a total nightmare in LF based on his body and NLCS, but, like, look it up; he's fine in the NL.
  9. Arrieta gets to keep his vowels for one more inning.
  10. I thought Coghlan had a bunch of good swings right after he was acquired. Not so much lately.
  11. Oh GTFO with that strike call
  12. Theo is stress-eating the horsefeathers out of that peanut.
  13. Stop getting destroyed by a team with James Loney hitting cleanup.
  14. Save us Lester. you're our only hope.
  15. Oh good. They are just spitting on these nasty sliders. And now that happens.
  16. I lean more toward Sully's side on this one. Even last year, Vogelbach put up a .390 wOBA in Double-A. He didn't hit for much power, but he had an 18% BB rate and a 19% K rate. That's gonna play. And now the power is there; yeah it's the PCL, but he also plays for Iowa. Dude's gonna be in the majors for a looong time crushing right-handed pitchers. I can understand why the Yankees would want more as a centerpiece for Miller (though a Schwarber-level talent ain't happening) but I'd jump at the opportunity, if I were the Yankees, to move half a season of Chapman for 6+ years of Vogelbach at DH, benefiting from the short porch. And actually, as I type that, I wouldn't mind holding out for a starter this year or in the offseason for Vogelbach+ (and the + would have to be someone of significance), though I would love Chapman.
  17. So now that Kershaw is dead, is Bryant the current favorite for MVP? Looking at stars for potential playoff teams, Posey and Stanton are having sub-par seasons for their standards. And Harper hasn't even been the best player on his team. Carpenter, Murphy, Seager, and Cespedes would probably get consideration. Obviously Rizzo too, which could hurt Kris, but I think the voters will eat the defensive versatility stuff right up, plus all of the dongs of course.
  18. Almost surely because of the score. Nothing obvious happened to him.
  19. The last two plate appearances took 45 minutes.
  20. Balks annoy the crap out of me. If a pitcher slightly twitches after getting the signs, they call it. Those do not deceive any baserunner, nor are they designed to. But when lefties stride directly toward home then decide to throw to 1st, they NEVER get called. *maybe I'm partially bitter our lefty never takes advantage of this
  21. That was not particularly close to being a legal pickoff move.
  22. Man, how can you not love what Almora has shown. I spent the last few years pretending he didn't exist and pretending we didn't totally waste the #6 pick, but now he's probably an above average regular.
  23. Each pitcher we got in return for Garza must have one awesome year before becoming terrible. So the good news is Edwards will fix all of our problems this season.
