    It was from the minors. In his first minor league season he drew 73 walks in 64 games. Over the next two years he drew almost 200 in around 240 games. Also, his great-great-great grandfather changed the family surname to Youkilis from Weiner. Good move, gramps.

    I loved him when I was a kid. Then I realized what he was all about after I grew up. Same with me. Thirded. Yep. When I was a teenage I loved him and Thom Brennamen as a team (Bow Tie Tuesdays anyone?). I thought their banter was pointed and funny. Now he comes across as more snobby and elitist. Brennamen is even worse than Stone. I'd rather listen to Joe Buck call a bullriding competition.

    Those non-Baez whatevers better include Soler, Almora, and Maples. Soler & Almora can't realistically be part of the deal due to not signing until mid-summer. And I'm not sure Maples would bring much at this point. Agreed. A guy that hasn't pitched past rookie ball and will be 21 for the majority of next year. If someone would actually give up something for him I'd be floored.

    I haven't followed the new rules closely, to be honest. Hadn't heard that.

    I think Moreland signed a 3-year deal, so he is still under contract for 2013. I hope the Cubs will explore their options for that role after the 2013 season. What they should do is get a good, young play-by-play guy to pair with Pat and have him call a few innings and let Pat handle everything else.
