  1. Nuts and Gum, Typical manager? How so? I am going to research the 2001 DBacks and see what type of style of ball they played. From what I remember, they were sound, they bunted when they needed to and obviously respected Brenly. You have no idea how he would be with the Cubs.
  2. E.J., In response to your post, I feel Brenly is not going to makes exuses (See Dusty and now Quade) and demand accountability. There is no way that he would let guys like Soriano dog it. He certainly would not be putting up with bad fundamental baseball. I really think he would teach this team how to play "Baseball".
  3. Why is that exactly? I listen to Brenly in the booth and he knows exactly what seems to be lacking from this team (Obviously talent). He does not mince words and he has the fire to manage again.
  4. Rick Morrisey mentioned his name a week ago (In one of his articles) and it appears Ricketts really likes him. I'm fairly confident Quade will be gone but I am not sure who else is a possible candidate for the job. I like Brenly a lot in the booth and he obviously has blasted this team over the last few years for the lackluster effort and bad fundamentals. I think he would demand both of these. Obviously it will not matter if he has a bad team like this one. That said, this team, even with all of the injuries, should be far better than they are. Again, not exactly who could be a candidate and what type of manager fits as we do not know what the 2012 Cubs will look like.
