Uh... Illinois' only championship is from Helms as well... now if you want to waive losing in the NC game in our faces, go right ahead.... At least we've been to the final four in the last 30 years. Congratulations? I'm sure that will wow people in your coaching search. Might not wow them as much as the fanbase publicly fundraising a coaches contract buyout during a season.

So now you're telling me Byrd shouldn't celebrate beating a storied program like Illinois? On a serious note, this really sucks for the team. They were finally getting some momentum. Apparently Barlow was involved too and Painter suspended Barlow for the NCAA tourney last year for an incident that was never disclosed.

The problem is that most of the players on Illinois' roster have the same attitude. They all think THEY are the star player. If Paul is shooting all the shots Leonard isn't happy, yada yada. They pout, and ignore Weber. Hell, Weber flat said that Paul did not take the last shot he drew up last night (obviously). What is Weber supposed to do? He can bench them for a while, but then they just transfer. Then the fans get pissed off. He's just let them do whatever they please for the most part. Have you guys considered that these prize players Weber and Jerrance are recruiting might not all be great fits for a 'team'? You CAN blame the staff for that. Recruiting the best available athlete every time isn't always a great way to build a team. Illinois had more 'talent' at every position last night except for Hummel at the 4. Even then, Hummel was guarding Leonard for portions of the game so you could say Illinois was more talented at every spot on the floor.

EPIC He shoots plenty from inside the arc, he's not Ryne Smith. Also, how about the Orange Krush having half their seats empty for a must win game?? EPIC You won't get this cause you had Gene Keady around forever, we want our terrible coach with his terrible offense gone. I understand that, it's just kind of strange to take a shot at the Paint Crew who traveled to a road game when your own student section is bailing on your team.

He's the best player ever in the Big Ten. I agree. I believe he's second in B1G 3 point shooting and he's 45 th in the nation in Pomeroy's ORtg. and he can certainly do it all He's not good enough to make your roster, I'll grant you that.
