  1. Agree 100%. We all knew he had past injury issues, but this is crazy so early. It doesn't help that he was been hitting so poorly either. I NEVER thought that would happen. Especially after the spring he had.
  2. Dunn basically stated he wanted to play for the Cubs and Hendry blew it off. Yes he strikes out a ton and is terrible in the field, but he RAKES in Wrigley. He would have been the power bat the Cubs needed in right. Sure he could have gotten here are stunk, but at least he'd hit for power. Right now the Cubs offense is a mess. Country strong as Brenley likes to say.
  3. Brenley has been saying the WBC hurt Soto all the way from the start of the seaon to a few weeks back. Now that we are in June you have to wonder if he's healthy. The guy is struggling in so many areas it's not even funny.
  4. Is Tyler Colvin the only hope down there? I know he plays DH and plays LF. I don't see Brad Snyder being a everyday guy in the bigs.
  5. There once was a time when Cub fans were spoiled by right fielders who started and produced for the most part year in and out. Andre Dawson and Sammy Sosa were those guys. Ever since Sosa left, the Cubs have been searching for someone to stick with little luck. Check out the starting RF's since Sammy left Chicago. It isn't pretty. Fukudome I think is more of a CF. Jeromy Burnitz Jacque Jones Cliff Floyd Kosuke Fukudome Milton Bradley When are the Cubs going to get someone who can solidify that position? I know Dawson's and Sosa's don't come along everyday but it's a problem now just like 3rd base (at least Vance Law and Mitch Webster has stuck for a bit) was until ARam arrived. There has to be someone out there or in the minors who can come to the Cubs are contribute for more than 1 year.
  6. What are his contract details in terms of bonus money? Doesn't he have to play in a certain amount of games to get a decent kick in pay? He's already making a lot and if he doesn't stay healthy and produce it should be one and done for him. They can't invest money in someone who can't be counted on. They are already doing that with Soriano.
  7. Hendry put together a terrible bench in the offseason and when the injuries hit it was exposed. Hendry should be fired if the Cubs to not make the playoffs with the payroll he had.
  8. Put Fox in at 3rd. This game is out of hand and it's a good time to tinker.
  9. Well one bright spot tonight is Johnson. He's getting back to his form last season.
  10. Yeah, because if the wind isn't blowing in, that ball isn't out, right? Great season followed by a bust one. Look up the stats. I'll wait for the season to end--thanks. 1 HR this season and hitting under .215 He's got some time to turn it around but it's not going to be easy.
  11. Yeah, because if the wind isn't blowing in, that ball isn't out, right? Great season followed by a bust one. Look up the stats.
  12. Soto is looking like Rick Wilkins more and more each day.
  13. Soto is looking like Rick Wilkens more and more each day.
  14. Who would be considered the Cubs long relief guy since Heilman is pitching in later innings. Guzman?
  15. When Soriano is on, he's on. When he's off, he's just terrible.
  16. Well Marshall has been awesome this season for the most part and for his efforts Lou has all but sent him to the pen after this start. I wonder if that's affecting him at all mentally. He's done this stuff before. It seems like he pitches well for a bit, then just falls apart. I'm not saying he shouldn't be in the rotation, but he's prone to meltdowns early. The Cubs can't afford that especially with this bad bullpen.
  17. Way to show up tonight Marshall. Awesome. Patton warming up.
  18. It's just not a Borowski experience without copious amounts of sweat Ha. Sweaty Joe. Nobody rivals Ray King however in that department.
