  1. Have Bradley or Fox pitch a couple too \:D/ No, the injury risk is such that we only want crappy position players on the mound. Good Point, Bradley would throw one pitch and if the ump didnt call it a strike he would go nuts
  2. What Lou says to every batter after they come back to the dugout
  3. They should bring up Vitters, Cashner, Brett Jackson, Castro. They couldnt be any worse the the bunch of crap lou trots out every day
  4. Cubs first round draft pick next year will be Jimmy Clausen and Charlie Weis will be our next manager
  5. Is this really happening?!?!?!??!?!?!!?!?!? ](*,) :banghead: :cray: #-o
  6. Seriously Why doesnt someone tell Lou that Marmol can throw a strike????? Sometimes i wonder if lou and larry are even conscious on the bench
  7. Who will BA rank as the top ten cubs prospects?
  8. Just as I was starting to have a LITTLE confidence in Gregg he just proved that I was crazy Way to go Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. This guy Perkins has been really good! I read we got him from some independant leaduge team and he should be up in Sept.!!(pretty good story, not even playing minor league baseball then to the pros next year)
  10. Hahahahahahahahaha, somebody needs to dedicate a thread to photoshoping of all cubs players
  11. Man the injuries keep coming... I think they will bring up Robinson since he didnt play last night for Iowa
  12. Hart was optioned to the minor leagues so he can continue to pitch on a regular schedule. Jeff Stevens will be the corresponding move and will be announced before thursdays game. Good to see Stevens get the call he has earned it. Hope he does well to shup up everyone that says we got nothing back for derosa. All three guys are very talented. One of my friends that works at peoria says that their pitching coach says he could be a all-star pitcher if he can get the control issue down.
  13. Anyone know if Baker can catch and send hill down? Option A) Fukudome-CF Theriot- SS Bradley-LF Ramirez-3B Lee-1B Fox-LF Soriano-2B Soto-C Pitcher Blanco, Baker, Hoff, Johnson, Fontenot/Fuld,Hill on the bench Option B)-the worst defensive of- Bradley-CF Theriot-SS Lee-1b Ramirez-3b Fox-RF Soriano-LF Soto-C Blanco/Fontenot-2b Pitcher Blanco/Fontenot, Baker,Hoff,Johnson,Hill on the bench Option C) Fukudome-CF Theriot-SS Lee 1b Ram-3b Fox-2B Bradley-RF Soriano-LF Soto-C Pitcher Any of these lineups work??
  14. I'm tired of everyone saying Fox is a bad defender. All the games i've watched Fox has played good at 3rd and Left. Whenever he hits the ball he hits it hard. You make a mistake and He'll make you pay. I think he has earned a roster spot on this team till seasons end.
  15. So far Archer 2inn 5Ks yeah, my friend said a Cubs guy is there
  16. What was the best picks after the first day? Closest pick to the Majors?
  17. Fox better be playing at third tonite for Iowa
  18. At least someone is doing well in the Cubs organization
  19. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-09-scoutjun09,0,359770.story That was a really interesting story about scouts and all the effort and time it takes to see the guys and project their talent. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-09-scouts-sidejun09,0,6846849.story Sounds like Stan Zielinski is a really good scout. Any other known players he drafted?
  20. I went to the Chiefs game at Kane County today, saw some good and bad. I know Archer's numbers were not pretty but see a lot of upside on the very young kid. I was down the third base line the first inning(he threw really well, little nub shot to lake only hit). So I went down behind some scouts the 2nd inning to see if I could see any readings(KC had their gun off) Archer was consistently 91-94, hit 96 three times and 97 once. He walked the first batter, the 2nd batter hit a fly out to right and Burke took such a lazy route to the ball that he missed it and the runners were on 2nd and 3rd no outs. Got a ground out, gave up a single, then a dp to end the inning. He had a rough third but struck out two to end the inning. Archer came back and had a solid 4th stricking out two. Kreier didnt look sharp at all and his stuff was kind of flat. I dont see any every day big leaguers on the team (PP wise) except for vitters.
  21. I would like to see the Cubs upgrade at 2nd by the trade deadline. Any chance they will trade Hoff? maybe Fox if he produces?
  22. Miles is expected to be back with the big club soon. :( I cant wait to see the hitting show he puts on every night. When they come back it will be interesting to see who they send down. Probally Fox to work at 3B/Defense and Scales. It would be nice to see them keep one of Miles/Freel at Iowa and have Fox's bat off the bench.
