  1. Wow, a ground rule double on grass that bounced 20 rows into the stands
  2. He's been grounding to right not infrequently. His big problem is a crazy lack of line drives and a small lack of flies, just going by my eyes. Hopefully someone has some stats to back me up/prove me wrong
  3. If you replace "hate" with "rather enjoy," I feel the same way as they do. Reason says he should suck, but he's close to a full season of solid SS play at minimum wage. That's always nice
  4. Tall players should file a class action suit against the ump's union charging them with losing them millions by calling really stupid strike zones that should not be applicable to 2 meter tall humans by baseball rules
  5. I didn't realize (before this inning) that Dempster had respectable speed
  6. hyperactive child syndrome? Tiny brain (he has an exceptionally small skull, maybe the smallest in MLB) Also, poor dempster, so very close
  7. I hope Pierre donates some DNA to aid our studies in microencephalopathy
  8. strike one on soriano is possibly the lowest (in absolute terms) strike I've ever seen. It was maybe 8" off the dirt when it crossed home
  9. I know both parts of this make a lot more sense 2 years ago, but it still seems pretty funny today
  10. I am shocked that he threw a changeup to strike out Lee.
  11. So, Lee, about this slump thing... It's over already.
  12. I really love, as a matter of baseball philosophy, the changeup. I salute you, Hoffman. Now please throw a badly hanging/misplaced pitch
  13. I wonder what Maddux's BABIP would have been here for a whole career. Not .144, but still .294. Nobody is completely immune to the BABIP mojo except for knuckleballers. i wasn't aware he played his entire career in Petco
  14. I was really hoping for revenge for 2006 Can't .. we already lost a game against the Pads this year. Oh. Curses.
  15. I wonder what Maddux's BABIP would have been here for a whole career. Not .144, but still
  16. I was really hoping for revenge for 2006
  17. I would like to see this umpire suspended until he agrees to call strikes and Ks in a less annoying manner
  18. wait, did we just encounter non-cookie cutter, high leverage Marmol use?
  19. How many HR would they have hit off of Lilly in different circumstances/location?
  20. WGN news advertising "the most haunted town in America" I'm whipping up some snake oil, but I'm not sure if I should sell it in that town or the WGN HQ
  21. Maddux coulda gone another inning, too. At least. He's averaging 5.2 ip and 75 pitches per game. 1 more would probably have been near his limit, even if it went well
  22. I'm going to guess that Hairston's jaw weighs more than twice as much as Lilly's. Just the bone
