    I was physically at the Victor Diaz game; not only did we have to endure a POS ballpark, but we watched the Cubs tank the game in memorable fashion. Good lord, what a horrible game ...     And yet... he's shut them down for 4 innings and 0 ER.. That's the thing. I don't think that Harden needs the speed to be successful. Whether it's intentional or not, the loss of speed isn't a big deal; if he could have as long a career as Moyer (with his skills as a pitcher), I'd be thrilled.

With that in mind, Tim, his father, and those around them (Bochy/etc) are going under the assumption that they can pitch him for very high counts. Very unfortunate thinking imo ... time will tell, but they better be a bit more wary of the wear and tear that this is unnecessarily doing to him.
