  1. New sod is usually a bit of a problem. But there are 10 days before any potential game on that field, it should be in good shape by then. Football teams sometimes resod midweek, and there's a lot more starting and stopping in that sport. Odds are you'll see some clumps come up here and there, and it will be noticeable for the TV cameras, but given the time frame, a quality grounds crew should be able to make it playable and relatively safe. wow, I guess I would think it would be a huge issue, maybe not.
  2. wont new sod be really hard to start and stop on? will it move around at all? I can see it now, 4 outs fom the Series, Cubs up by 3 runs, and Soriano blows out his knee chasing down a fly ball. Cubs loose. just say'n.
  3. Can I be the resident Cowboys fan there? after Sunday, I feel you should be banned. go back to your kids
  4. Flipped his bat, had words with the ump...ump threw him out... did the ump truly make a bad call?
  5. for those of use coming in late and dont have the Cubs on TV, what happened to Aram?
  6. how can this be tampering if the guy doenst even own a team?
  7. What a life it is being a Cubs fan. I feel sorry for my 1 year old neice who i'm turning into a Cubs fan. Does that qualify as child abuse? fear not. My daugter is 7 mns old and LOVES to sit on my lap and watch Cub games. It MUST be dun.
  8. he prolly was..you would too if your job was to watch this team day in and day out-especially having as much invested as he has.. thanks 22, this is a fun way to close the season, regardless of how it ends.
  9. Dear Cobs, Cy Mulder is not a demigod. plz bring your wood, and destroy the cardinals. thank you. o, and Marquis, plz dont suck.
  10. yea, cuz we hit soo well against JOEL FREAKIN PENEIRO for 4+ innings.... I did not see the game, but am I missing something? Kendall had an error on a strikout but that was followed by walk, double, single, sacrifice, triple. The pitching has some most of the responsibility here. Errors are going to happen. we were down by 1 run for 6 innings, this isnt all on Jason Kendall, as much as I dislike him as a player
  11. What an assenine comment. If you've read this thread you'd know that the whole argument for wanting the cubs to miss the playoffs is because fans would like to be able to point to more than 3 out of the last 40 seasons as seasons we had a chance. The word you're looking for is asinine. What's "assenine" is your logic. People don't want the Cubs to make the playoffs because we've been lousy in the past? That's just flat out stupid. No real fan would ever want the team they supposedly support to not make the playoffs. Correcting spelling...the sure sign of someone who has a weak argument. I'll bold the asinine comment. If you've read the thread at allyou will realize that those who may not want the team to win, only do so because they are fans who would like to "enjoy the ride" more often than they have been able to in the past. Your implication that those who do not want them to make it to the playoffs aren't real fans just make you look ignorant/you haven't read the thread/unable to follow very simple logic that has been clearly delineated multiple times. If you're going to comment on the intelligence of my post, at least freaking spell the words right that way you don't make yourself look like a complete... nevermind. Regarding the body of your post... all that needs to be said is that if you don't want the Cubs to make the playoffs, you're not a true fan. It's that simple. This isn't an a=b situation, as has been pretty well explained throughout the thread that you apparently aren't paying attention to. I want the Cubs to make the playoffs, I assume that everyone does. But the question is, if we back into the post season, will management see it as a "we're going the right direction" type of deal, when it seems pretty clear that we're not. There's a lot about this team that needs to change, from top to bottom. Would making the playoffs this year help or hinder that change? not to beat a dead horse, but isnt it too late? doesnt anyone besides me feel that management believes their moves are enough and "in the right direction" even if we dont make the playoffs? wrigley is full, we might be +.500 in wins, making the playoffs isnt going to make abit of a difference. Management isnt going to change if we dont make the playoffs, management will change because of new ownership. It wont have anything to do with the playoffs. I say bring on postseason
  12. yea, cuz we hit soo well against JOEL FREAKIN PENEIRO for 4+ innings....
  13. Floyd homerun hmmmmm..that would get us a fake rally, then what?
  14. what's a prefessional? It's what a player is before he's ready to play in the majors. Obviously a joke playing on Kendal's age. (note: I'm joking) no your right, Kendall is a joke...
