  1. i don't know many children who can break a bat over their knee. I think you know what im talking about 8-)
  2. To defend Braun a little bit, this is is 1st year playing OF in his life. He makes the routine plays and sometimes makes the great plays. He just sometimes makes stupid boneheaded plays like tonight. But he also had that nice catch against Fukudome in the 1st. He reminds me alot of Soriano during Soriano's 1st year in the OF. He still plays way to deep but he will get better. And yeah I understand your comment.
  3. You do know you have to be wearing Cubs garb to get in, right? See, I still have not made a choice on this yet. I might cheer for the Cubs just because it would be against the Cards. But.. Man. Its going to be a ackward situation no matter what.
  4. Wait, WTMJ really said we were going to win both games?
  5. And his supply of maple bats. Dude needs to stop breaking bats over his knee when he's not hitting well. Also, maybe Lou shouldn't make him try to bunt when he's hitting .360. Well breaking your bat over your knee is childish, he is not the only guy to ever do it. And honestly with the way he has pitched this year, who is going to tell him to stop? And breaking your bat over your knee is a hard thing to do.
  6. Always tough to watch your defense perform like that. Beating Sheets and Sabathia back to back was huge, regardless of how it happened. No doubt. It feels like last week when we beat the Cards game 1 and 2 when we had Sabathia and Sheets going the next 2 except the other way around. However I dont think it would matter who was pitching tonight Zambrano was on and wearing out the Strike zone.
  7. :hello: Just got to tip the cap tonight. Zambrano pitched great, and when Sheets made a mistake the Cubs capitalized on it and made Sheets work.
  8. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) I hate losing... I hate losing to the Cubs. It was such a good game tho.. It went from ](*,) (Soriano) to =D> (Hardy Homer) to :stickman: (Braun) to :yahoo: (Hart) to :banghead: [-( :-k (Weeks error) to :clapping: (Branyan) to :| (Derrek Lee's go ahead double) to :x (DeRosa's infield single) to :o (Kendall walking) to  :cray: :bye:
  9. No offense, but almost anytime you lose a close game with numerous close plays, it feels that you gave away too many chances. Had the Brewers won, we would have felt the same thing about Lee cutting off the throw home, Quade sending Lee when he should have held him, and the numerous other plays where the Cubs gave away chances. Both teams made mistakes. Both teams had some things go their way. The better team won tonight. All im saying is it felt like we gave one away. Thats all im saying. Cub fans can feel how they want, but as a Brewer fan it felt like we could of won. But we didnt. The Cubs came through when it mattered TONIGHT. Just like when Milwaukee won in Chicago when Wood gave up 2 in the ninth and the Brewers came through. Its how the game goes. Im going to be pissed about this game tonight and hopefully Sheets can make me forget about it.
  10. Ok, Sorry if I sounded stupid. In my opinion it felt like the Brewers gave away to many chances in that game. Weeks HAS to make that play. The Cubs deserved to win the game however, and You have got to remember that I was probably talking from my ass after a hard loss. My bad. I hate my life
  11. Im done sitting here and arguing about this. Im not going to convince you and your not going to convince me. It was a classic game, and we both can agree on that.
  12. ok see your really pushing your argument tho, I COULD say.. Branyan should be playing over Hall and Durham should be starting over Weeks and we would of won by 3. It doesnt work that way. The Brewers beat themselves, but the Cubs won.. Its how the game goes. I never said the Cubs didnt deserve to win.
  13. Thank You, and I would also think something else. Cub fans are not viewing the game the same as Brewer Fans, and the same thing the other way.
  14. The Weeks DP was as easy as it gets, Yes Johnson was coming down on him but he still had time to make the throw and he threw it to Green Bay.
  15. Cubs: 6 runs scored, 10 LOB: 6/16 = 37.5% efficiency Brewers: 4 runs scored, 5 LOB: 4/9 = 44.4% efficiency 37.5% < 44.4%. Thus, the Cubs blew more chances than the Brewers, but still won. Make sense now? This is all I am trying to say. You show up here with a backhanded compliment with the caveat that you think the Brewers beat themselves, because they somehow failed to convert 100% of their chances, as if that is somehow abnormal. I respond by stating the Cubs really should've done more with the chances they had. Thus, the game shouldn't have been that close. Thankfully, they pulled it out anyway, but deserved the win. It's not that hard, really. Brewers... 1. Missed a run by calling Hart out at 3rd. 2. Weeks gives away 2 runs on a easy double play ball. 3. Torres walks 3 guys in the 9th. 4. We have Ned Yost as our manager and thats not fair. 5. Hall if he was in position would of gotten Cedeno out at 3rd. 6. Infield single by Fukudome that Weeks should of handled. 7. DeRosa infield single that Hall should of made a play on. Yes, I belive the Brewers lost this game. We dont always have to agree. I dont agree with you. Get It?
  16. So...the only other baserunners in the entire game that failed to score for the Brewers were "classic Brewer game"? They got 8 baserunners, and 4 scored, 3 on HRs. Hart wasn't clearly safe, and it was mostly Lee's fault for not letting the ball through, because Fielder would've been out. Torres was lucky to get out with only giving 2 runs up. Fukudome and Soto both K'd during AB where they swung at balls out of the zone. The Cubs had 10 left on base, and left 6 of them in scoring position. No team is going to convert every chance. The Cubs converted a lower % than the Brewers. No, we didnt come through with runners in scoring position. We had huge errors and Hart WAS clearly safe. It was a good game, but if your going to be a tool about it and not even say it was and say something like "Well we should of won by more" which you should not of. I dont even want to talk to you. To all good Cub fans, good game. 1 out of 162, but I wish we would of won. I find it amusing you don't think bukie is a good Cubs fan. He's one of the most rational posters here. Good for him, his points make no sense at all however and I also disagree with him. That is all.

I wish we won, but I dont know how many more games like this I can handle. You're good on this board, no doubt. But you say some of the funniest things over on Brewerfan. Soriano 3 good weeks a year? Come on. Obviously im being sarcastic. But that means.. He gets really really hot for some time, and then gets cold. I just wish this was not one of those weeks were he gets hot
  18. Do we seriously have 3 more of these this week? http://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gif Im going to have a heart attack by wednesday

  21. The Brewers hardly beat themselves. They blew one defensive play and saved themselves several other runs (of course, a couple were thanks to 3rd base coach Mike Quade). The Cubs had chances all night and barely converted (finally in the 9th). The Brewers had chances in one inning and got the most of it. Hart didnt come through in the 1st, Hardy and Braun in the 3rd. Hart being called out at 3rd when he was clearly safe sucked because Hall singled the next time. Fukudome's infield single when Weeks could of had him and then the Double Play ball he botched. Torres walking 3 guys in the 9th also sucked, so it was MORE then ONE inning, it was a good game and sometimes the ball doesnt bounce your way. It was a classic game tho.
  22. good game, Crazy game. The Brewers lost it themselves and that is the worst part of this loss. This is how these are suppose to be
  23. Your posting here is becoming less and less constructive Beertown, ElCaballo is one of the good non-Cub fans on this site, so chill my friend, and don't treat him like some random ESPN troll trash. You're right. I don't know what I was thinking. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=49777&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=25 I made my point and I was done with it, Marmol has pitched better since then. But all Cub fans have to admit during those times you guys were not worried about him, because you were. This will be my last post during the Game Thread so I dont cause a big fight, Good Luck and hopefully no one gets hurt.
  24. I heard there is going to be ALOT of Cub fans at Miller Park, I dunno what percentage but I heard alot.
  25. Yeah, I see. He is hitting like .500 in his career vs. Milwaukee. :banghead:
