  1. Vitters is our best prospect, but by the time he is ready in like 3-4 years, we will have 3-4 years worth of more draft prospects. I would trade him in a 2nd for Peavy. And say he turns out to be a great player in 4 years for SD, then maybe we'll just have to cut our losses and sign a FA 3B who is just as good. Its not the end of the world, we have the money. But guys like Soto, Theriot, and Fontenot who we get through the draft or trades can come up and surprise people and help us be fine. But when you have a chance to get Peavy for him, then you do it. Because this team can be solid for the next 3 years with its current core with Peavy. Zambrano, Peavy, Dempster, Shark, and another FA in 2010,11,12. Not bad.
  2. I like the idea of a Murton/Pie platoon. Pie will play CF against all righties, and then when there is a lefty pitcher Murton can play RF and Fukudome play CF. Fukudome is gonna play CF a few games in ST to see how he looks. I think he will do well in CF. I like this lineup against lefties: 1) Roberts 2) Murton 3) Lee 4) Soriano 5) Ramirez 6) Fukudome 7) Soto 8) Theriot/Derosa
  3. The Baltimore Sun also said that that deal has been offered. Well they said Veal, Gallagher, and Cedeno for sure. And they talked about including Ceda as well. I believe that IS the offer. And I hope the Orioles accept so we can finally get Roberts here.
  4. Crisp plays terrific defense, Pie plays terrific defense. Crisp can bat around .290, Pie hasn't really shown he can bat above .250. Crisp doesn't strike out as much as Pie, and can steal 25-30 bases. I think Crisp brings a lot more to this team than Pie. But I agree that Pie has a high ceiling, but he isn't certain to get to that ceiling. If Pie hits the same as he did last year, then he would be a big detriment to this team. Crisp can actually help this team a lot. Plus we would be giving up absolutely nothing for him. And who knows if he would even start for us. Maybe he would just play versus lefties. We wanted a centerfielder whom can bat righty, we were willing to give up Murton for someone like Marlon Byrd. Now we can get that CF and give up garbage. This would be an amazing move by Hendry. I like Pie and think he can be good, but I wouldnt mind this deal at all. I think that maybe Pie would be traded though if we got Crisp.
  5. Could the other deal be Michael Young? He is as high profiled as Roberts is and would be a great SS addition for us. Plus the Rangers aren't going anywhere this year and might wanna take some prospects back. Maybe something like Gallagher, Ceda, Cedeno, and Fontenot for Roberts and Marshall, Veal, Patterson, and Colvin for Young. Imagine a lineup of: 1) Roberts 2B 2) Young SS 3) Lee 1B 4) Soriano LF 5) Aramis 3B 6) Fukudome RF 7) Soto C 8) Pie CF Our team would be stacked!
  6. If the Bulls or Cubs or any Chicago team is playing "Away", then there is a great chance that the games will not be in HD. When teams travel, they don't bring the HD cameras so away games are mostly not in HD. If the Cubs play at Home or the Bulls play at Home then the games will always be in HD.
