  1. There are so many dirty plays where this explanation would at least be plausible: elbow to the back of the head, cleats to the back of the leg, head butt, the list goes on and on. Biting has to be premeditated, doesn't it? And all of these plays can be reviewed by Fifa as well. Suarez was stupid in even commenting on this, only makes him look more guilty. A decision on Suarez has to be made before Saturday (Uruguay's next game)
  2. I know you guys hate Mexico (and then some) but that was an obvious red. Notice the absence of reaction by the player - he knew he got caught.
  3. That was an obvious red - easy decision. That was a borderline foul, not even close to a straight red. There were no less than a dozen worse tackles in this game that deserved cards. Going in studs forward straight to the shin with no intention to play the ball and the ref six feet away? You have got te be kidding.
  4. That was an obvious red - easy decision.
  5. Incidentally, this is exactly why GD is the first tiebreaker
  6. Not now - Brasil just scored
  7. Switched to watch the game on Dutch TV and just realised that's their next matchup.
  8. Game over
  9. What is HR? Hrvatska (the name of the country in the local language)
  10. It makes prefect sense for the final group games - the first of those are still being played.
  11. Here's the logic: GD means that in a tight situation at least two teams will be in attacking mode until the end of the games. If H2H would be the first tie-breaker, there could be a lot of bunkering down to preserve results, as the number of goals wouldn't matter. So if you want to see attacking play until the end of the games, the GD > GS > H2H order makes perfect sense
  12. Germany will play to win, period. We'll see how it goes next Thursday - you can count on all of Belgium watching the early games closely.
  13. Nice job, Howard.
  14. Sneaky elbow by Beckerman there
  15. It's still early, guys, don't lose hope.
  16. Last "late" game of the tournament, apparently. All kickoffs at least two hours earlier after today.
  17. Algeria vs Russia will be, but I'm confident we can beat South-Korea. Nothing like watching games at a bbq and beer binge in a garden with friend btw (too bad the third game is at midnight CET) Bunch of kids celebrated today's winning goal by jumping in the pool. :D
  18. I am officially impressed with France now.
  19. Yeah, but his FIP was only 72.68. Unlucky.
  20. That would be my guess too.
  21. Red Devil madness at it's finest: 15,000 people filled the Sportpaleis in Antwerp to watch the game on a big screen (the same venue where I saw Arcade Fire on Tuesday) - this is how they react to the second Belgian goal: http://www.stubru.be/media/alseendriesjeuiteendoosje21
  22. That's not how FIFA works.
  23. But not good enough :D I thought our team played a dreadful first half, but did a very good job at patiently breaking down the Algerian defensive wall in the second. They'll need to play better in the next games though - I doubt Wilmots starts the same eleven as today.
