  1. lol, no one wants to win
  2. someone just win already
  3. Once again, a half dozen or so foreign players in the first round. Makes you wonder about some of these fringe underclassmen that keep declaring for the draft.
  4. so YOU'RE the musical oaf? got it No, you're of the ilk to do the whole "I've never even heard random insanely popular song that has played literally everywhere." Or maybe you're not. I don't know; either way, you're a musical oaf. I have a wife and two daughters. I know more about awful top 40 music than any man should
  5. so YOU'RE the musical oaf? got it
  6. up 3-1 on the road and you piss it away. so frustrating
  7. Tanaka looks across to the Cubs bullpen and says to himself, "Bullet dodged....."
  8. How could you not have heard it? It's catchy as hell and everywhere. I know. I was making a joke. In the music thread, people will deny having ever heard songs that are constantly playing everywhere no matter where you go. Hipster NSBB. Just musical oafs like Derwood. Usually it's talking about [expletive] like hearing Macklemore a zillion times and not actually knowing whose song it is. Who said that?
  9. Is it game time yet?
  10. Interesting to no one but me: In my first season on NHL '14, I took the Blue Jackets to a 43-33-6 record, good for the #1 WC, and lost to Pittsburgh in 7 games in the first round. In real life, the 2013-14 Blue Jackets went 43-32-7, good for the #1 WC, and are playing Pittsburgh in the first round.
  11. First year when the Knicks, Lakers and Celtics were all out of the playoffs since.....ever?
  12. FIRST PI- PITCH
  13. Former #3 overall pick Jeff Clement is retiring http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/baseball/2014/03/31/jeff-clement-pittsburgh-pirates-seattle-mariners-marshalltown-retiring-mlb/7131055/ what a bust
  14. yeah, but 5 of the "original six" teams are in
  15. Anaheim clinches top seed in West. Boston clinches President's Cup Tampa Bay can get home ice advantage with a win today. Central winner decided today as well
  16. yes, missed that, thanks. They would have to win and Colorado lose, as Colorado has the tie-breaker with ROW They are tied so St Louis could lose in a Shootout if Colorado loses in regulation. right, a St. Louis win or OTL coupled with a Colorado loss would give the Blues the division

  18. EASTERN CONFERENCE: #1A Boston vs. #2WC Detroit #2A Tampa Bay vs. #3A Montreal (Montreal could move to #2 w/ a win or OTL and a TB loss, or a win and a TB OTL) #1M Pittsburgh vs. #1WC Columbus #2M New York Rangers vs. #3M Philadelphia WESTERN CONFERENCE #1C Colorado vs. #1WC Minnesota (Colorado could face Dallas w/ a win and two Anaheim losses) #2C St. Louis vs. #3C Chicago #1P Anaheim vs. #2WC Dallas #2P San Jose vs. #3P Los Angeles
  19. This is a thread for the bad things. In case you're confused, which it seems you are. I'd rather just start the season by platooning our castoffs and actually giving the higher ceiling guys a chance to sink or swim, as the big leagues are the final step in player development. This. If you don't think Olt can be an every day player, just say so and go look for the next 3B. I don't mind it with fringy players, but the idea that a core player gets to the majors and suddenly can only hit one type of pitching is absurd. Olt isn't healthy so your platoon call on him is premature. It may end up being the case, but calling it that right now is incorrect. He's magically healthy enough to face lefties but too ouchy to play against righties?

  21. Cubs winning in spite of themselves
  22. so much platooning
  23. Can't wait for Bonafacio to get on so Renteria can [expletive] BUNT AGAIN
  24. Or if he keeps pitching like this, let's trade him while he is in his prime and his value is at an all-time high. and then when (if) THOSE pitchers become consistent and reliable, we can trade THEM for prospects, forever, and forever
