  1. There's credence to the argument that, after flipping Riot and DeRo, you could swap Riot out for Cedeno and improve the lineup. There's credence, but not altogether great IMO. Theriot is 174 points better against left-handers than right handers in his career. Cedeno in his career is 131 points better against right-handers than left-handers. Theriot is 4/6 against Davis, and Cedeno is 0/6. I'm all for giving Cedeno some starts right now, but this is the type of matchup that is good for Theriot. A left-hander who is a nibbler, won't come inside much, and Theriot has had success against him. Cedeno meanwhile struggles against left-handers, loves the ball inside, loves fastballs, and struggles with patience with pitchers who throw just off the outside corner. He also has had no success with Davis in limited at-bats. I'd start Cedeno at least one of Saturday or Sunday, but not tonight. Does Davis really stay outside all the time? He described himself as somebody who comes inside a lot. He likes to jam hitters with his cutter and fastball inside, but likes to catch the edges outside with his breaking ball. If he isn't given a good size strikezone, he's pretty much F'd.
  2. ^^Byrnes isn't the only one with 20+, "Dyck" Young hit 32.
  3. Melvin isn't going to post it up til tomorrow
  4. If one looks hard enough these kind of arguments can be made to make almost any team look bad. What of the might Diamondbacks? Remove their 24-9 record vs the NL East and they don't sniff the playoffs. Thing is, the East is actually a really solid division, 3 teams over .500, two close to 20. Big difference compared to the Central.
  5. Couldn't agree more. And if they do lose with him, I hope they still show some fight instead of just bending over in the next games They'll need to hang close and get into the BPs. That means Z needs to pitch very well, and we'll probably need to squeeze a run or two off Webb. It's going to be pretty tough. But realistically we only *need* to win 1 game in AZ, so all is not lost if we lose tomorrow. technically, we *need* to win 3 games regardless of the city they're played in. why does everyone think the Cubs are a lock to win both home games? Because Twinkie lover, Livan and inconsistent Owings will be on the hill in both.
  6. I don't think Buck is that bad. It's when he has McCarver on there making him look like a complete idiot.

Livo has pitched like trash lately and Owings will be pitching in front of a rowdy Chicago crowd, I'd like to see if he can handle that.

  9. ouch, 10 am on sunday (for me)
  10. What about the weekend games? I only heard games 1 and 2 on the radio here. DAMN that sucks! I'll still only believe it when it comes from MLB.com though. Well, this is ESPN radio, Im sure its 100% right. While I would guess that the report is right, it's sort of funny/ironic that you place that much credibility into anything ESPN. I was being sarcastic.. lol

  13. ITS OFFICIAL 10 ET both games
  14. It's obviously going to. Didn't affect us last time nor did it affect us when Cards fans came and we swept them.As of right now, only 44,000 tix sold.. Eww....I forgot we had a D-backs fan lurking around here... :D We'll take any advantage we can get and the thought of a nice chorus of "Baseball Season's underway..." being sung at BOB just brings chills.... Oh, it'll be embarrassing hearing "LETS GO CUBBIES!" I just hope our fans yell back like they've done in the past. It'll REALLY suck if we fall behind, cause the fans will be out of it.

  18. We'll see...this guy finds out a lot of inside stuff like the projected attendance and some other words that don't get out until they are supposed to Here's the link to the thread.. THREAD
  19. Oh and from someone who has an inside source with the D'Backs he said this on our board so 4 CT wed 6 CT thurs not official like he said, though
  20. It's definitely a Wednesday game..just what time..
  21. Yea, they'll wait til tomorrow night after the game.
  22. I had not seen that article before. interesting, but has to be a little disconcerting for the DBacks as if they do fall behind early, they have a choice, allow the game to be put out of reach with meatballs, or burn up their quality bullpen arms in a game the odds are against them winning. I don't think we're going to have to deal with that. I think we're only bringing 10 pitchers on the roster. Our 5 starters. And with days off every two games we should be fine to throw Cruz in for those, if in so that occurs. We will probably only use Cruz, Slaten, Pena, Lyon, Valverde
  23. I'm thinking Young - terrible of late Salazar - reliable Byrnes ( ) - waste of $30 mil Clark - Good this last month, but Jackson is clearly better Reynolds - On fire, K machine Snyder - 2nd half MVP for us Drew - Finally heating up Ojeda - On fire Webb For game one..I'm almost 100% it will be that.
  24. Argh, you're not trolling. Sarcasm, I'm guessing...
